The Ranelagh Review
A five minute walk from Bounds Green tube station, The Ranelagh pub is the perfect place to enjoy a drink out in the sun. Its garden is big enough to seat 140 people, and includes a raised decking complete with heaters for when the sun sets and the temperature drops. Despite the ample amount of seating outside, the tables are positioned in such a way that you don’t feel as though you are sitting on top of the party next to you. Inside and the atmosphere becomes more retro, with leather sofas and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, as well as a designated non-smoking area.
If you like a variation in your beer, then The Ranelagh provides plenty of choice. The real ales on offer include London Pride, Green King IPA, Adnams Bitter, Youngs Bitter, as well as a rotation of guest ales. German and Belgian beers are also available on draught with the Bavarian Franziskaner Weissbier, and the cherry flavoured Belle Vue Kriek providing a change to the usual choice of beverage.
Non-drinkers are also catered for, as The Ranelagh provides a good selection of smoothies to help quench your thirst. Delicious and reasonably priced The Ranelagh’s menu includes haddock fish cakes, through to steak and ale pie, as well as more light dishes such as potato wedges. Yet when it comes to food, what The Ranelagh really prizes itself on is its Sunday roast.
With a choice from Roast Beef marinated in Belle Vue Kriek & Mustard, Roast leg of Pork & Bramley apples as well as the option of a nut roast, The Ranelagh is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life....read more

“I love this place! Last year it was a dodgy local boozer but this year it seems to have had a complete overhaul including the creation of a gorgeous beer garden with a wooden decking area and outside gas heaters. Inside, the Ranelagh is just as stunning with a mix of low leather seats and comfy chairs.
The staff are superb, when we visited they were incredibly busy but still smiling and happy to go out of their way to accomodate our demands for extra sauces, etc!
The food portions are huge - particulary recommend the sausage and mash. There's a very good range of beers, if that's your thing, otherwise decent selection of wines on offer.
All in all the Ranelagh is a superb summer venue but looks like a great bet for winter too.”
