The Maple Leaf Review
The Maple Leaf. The only way one can review this place is Canadian. There's Canadian tat all over the walls, behind the bar, everywhere you look.
Serves Canadian beer, by Canadian barstaff. Canadian-style foods are on order.
Ho hum.
PS - Your challenge, should you choose to accept it: on a shelf just as you walk in [you can't miss it] there is a wooden duck. Now we wouldn't like to condone anything illegal, but we want that duck. If it should happen to fall into our possession, the courier would be favoured with alchoholic beverages. Cool.

“very rude at closing time. lights on at 11, despite serving a pint at 11. they take up position by 11.05 over the rear tables. At 11.15, before drinking up time is through, they tell you that thats it and all the canadians acquiesce, maybe because they dont know about the 20 mins drinking up time. the bar is clear well before 11.20, with half pints paid for remaining on the table. damn uncivilised !
btw, its was fine before 11 !”

“The Maple Leaf is a great pub! The customer service from the Canadian staff is fantastic. As customer service is something that is more focused on in Canada than the UK it really shows. Considering the low wages with no tips for pub workers in London these guys are doing a superb job. I disagree with the other reviewers. The food here is big, tasty and inexpensive. They serve a gigantic plate of a Canadian fav, poutine(chips with cheese and gravy),wings, huge Caesar salads and Canadian beer on tap and in bottles. You won't find larger portions anywhere else. And where else can you go to watch ice hockey games and other Canadian programmes for which they also keep on tape.”

“To the best of my knowledge London's only Canadian bar. It serves Canadian beer (Molson and Moosehead, if I remember correctly) and some Canadian specialities. However it hardly does justice to the wide range of beers available in Canada (where for example are the excellent Unibroue beers from Quebec, or even Alexander Keith's IPA) and the menu isn't *very* Canadian. A pleasant place, but could be a lot better if it used a bit of imagination.”
