MOD Pizza Review

Top 10 things you need to know about MOD Pizza:

1) Life is faster than ever. So fast that if people don’t get a coffee in less than two minutes, it’s a shiz show. People like a fast-paced life to the point of insanity. When was the last time you stopped to smell the flowers, or choose from more than 30 pizza toppings?

2) When was the last time your fast-paced, rat-race-life allowed you to stand in a restaurant and take your time making selections without thinking about what you have to do next?

3) You’re in Leicester Square on a Saturday evening (hell on Earth) and people are rushing around trying to get to the cinema, the theatre or a booked restaurant table.

4) You enter MOD Pizza restaurant and calm descends. The outside seating is packed but inside is chill. You’re still calm as Silia, the smiley hostess, hands you a menu and explains the procedure and pizza options: choose a pre-made pizza, or pizza salad, or create a whole new DIY pizza; just add toppings!

5) You pick the Dominic – white sauce, Asiago cheese, onion, tomato and sausage - but you decide to add blue cheese, black olives, jalapeños, Parmesan, ground beef and sun-dried tomatoes, finishing with a balsamic glaze swirl and a lemonade refill, thank you very much.

6) You pause, incredulous, for a second when you see the price. £11 is all you need to pay for pizza and a drink?! Your budget hasn’t even been dented. This is one to remember when your pals ask you if you have any “cheap restaurants in London’s West End” recommendations.
7) Watching the frenzied kitchen line, you feel even more calmed by the fact that, for once, it’s not you who has to rush around making the food. You grab your mango Fresca, napkins and take a seat.

8) Your pizza is delivered to you. It is perfection. Heavy, loaded and, as you take the first bite, you can’t talk. The feeling of eating good food has descended. The meats are well balanced with the cheese, which lifts the veggies, which are enhanced by the balsamic glaze. The base is not soggy, keeps its shape and supports your greedy choices.

9) As you look at the date night couples and families also tucking into pizza, you sense their cheerful calmness as well.

10) After your fifth refill of lemonade and last bite of pizza, you’re ready to take on the rest of the night. As you leave MOD pizza, your calm demeanour follows you. This is how a Saturday night out in London should be.

"Dreadful pub, run by people who have zero idea about hospitality or running a pub. Upon arrival we sat in the back garden that only had one other table occupied , when we tried to order off the lunch menu..." Which venue is this?
