Henry's Cafe Bar Review
A three minute stroll from Covent Garden tube station or a five minute sprint from Charring Cross, and a mere couple of tumble rolls to the majority of London’s numerous theatres; Henry’s is just such a bloody convenient meeting place. Easy to find, yes, but is there more to this place than just another chain bar to find your bearings in before moving on to your destination?
Well, it’s pretty big for starters. There’s a spacious upstairs, more intimate downstairs and separated restaurant area for those wanting to enjoy a slightly more civilised meal. Always bustling, the atmosphere has a ‘work’s over’ vibe which is easy to get caught up in.
There’s something for cocktail and wine enthusiasts too – choice. With all the key classics, you can also be a little different with a Tokyo Iced tea or a special strawberry and Vanilla infused Mojito. Happy hour - Monday to Friday 5 – 7pm –is a big crowd drawer. The plentiful wine list offers a range of top bottles including Chilean, Casillero del Diablo and a delicious vintage of Chateau Paveil de luze.
The food is fairly typical good bar grub, a host of hearty big burgers, fish and chips, sausage ‘n’ mash and carbonara. Henry’s does however boast an above average offering of sharing dishes; there are nibbles, nachos and continental platters that make a quick drink with friends easily turn into an evening out. The pricing is completely reasonable too, maybe even slightly under what you’d expect to pay in central London, and there are lunch time special deals which make great budget options.
So as we firmly established in the beginning, Henry’s gets top marks for location, location, location. It also does fairly well in the rest of its critique. Our summary: a good spot for meeting friends - and then accidentally managing to spend your whole evening there. Oops…. ...read more

“This is a bar that I always go back to... it's a great meeting point, sells draught lager/beer and you can usually get served pretty quickly. There has always been a great atmosphere in there whenever I've been in and some great tunes are played, although the music isn't so loud that you can't have a conversation with your mate! My only complaint is that it doesn't stay open for longer!”
