Top 10 things you need to know about The Cinnamon Bazaar:

1) Prepare for hunger levels to increase tenfold on entry as you’re engulfed in a mouth-watering aroma so remarkable, you could catch it in a bottle and sell it for good money.

2) Hanging baskets overhead, drapes of burgundy cloth, vivid colours and patterned walls; take a seat in the beautiful bazaar and prepare to be blown away by an absolute multitude of flavour.

3) Tucked in to Maiden Lane, the Bazaar is brilliantly central and just a 5-minute walk from Covent Garden. Though this isn’t the place for a hasty pre-theatre meal or a quick curry before heading out-out, this is an experience to savour - the feature of your night, the main event.

4) The Samosa chaat: Punjabi vegetable samosa comes highly recommended by the staff and has every reason to be. An incredible concoction of chutneys, vegetable and spice – a great sharer to start.

5) The Bazaar plates vary in size but the staff are ready to talk you through the options and set you up with a feast fit for Kings. The Tandoori Kentish lamb fillet is a great choice for the table, or try the Malabar boatman’s haddock curry for something a little different.

6) The puddings are true to their culture and probably not as you know puddings to be. Carrot means carrot. Cardamon means cardamon. Prepare for something wholly unusual!

7) Choose from a small but specialised cocktail list, put together by mixology expert Mr Lyan – designed to perfectly pair with your food dish and accentuate the flavours to another level. Your choice for wine, however, is plentiful and again, the staff are clued up and ready to recommend.

8) You’ll be amongst an eclectic crowd - families, friends, daters - young and old. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and high tea, this place fills up every night of the week so be sure to book ahead.

9) A great choice for veggies or gluten- and dairy-free eaters; even the set menus are largely gluten-free, including the private dining menu which is available for parties of 12-30 people in their stunning Khari Baoli dining room.

10) A fantastic Indian restaurant that embraces the spirit of a bazaar and is ahead of the game with experimental flavours. Beautiful surroundings and with a true taste of local, traditional India - this is a guaranteed pleaser....read more
