“This is my favourite pub in the area, I wish I still lived down the road from it like I used to! Nice atmosphere, Saturday nights are always fun, especially if you want to have a bit of a dance in the back room. Quiz night on Mondays are good too, even if the same teams always seem to win!”

“This is my local and I would say the only pub worth going to in the near vicinity! I think it's a great pub but do feel it has a few drawbacks - as the bar is soooo large it can take forever to get served (and this isn't just a one-off as I regularly drink here and take forever to get served - especially round the side that looks out on to Green Lanes). I don't mind the beer but a few of my friends would prefer a bit more option. The food can be fantastic, but the Sunday roasts can be very tempremental - sometimes fantastic and at other times really poor. I also agree that the price is too high. All in all though a good pub and you'll be hard pushed to fin a better one near by.”

“This is my local pub and we are fortunate to live only a 5 minute walk away. It really is the only decent public house in the area but it is a real gem. The staff are friendly and it is big enough to accommodate large groups even on a Saturdsay night in it's vast back room. The ambiance is great and there is an eclectic juke box to fill the grand surroundings. The late opening 1am Thurs-Sat to Saturday is a real boon. The only drawbacks are the overpriced food (Delicious Sunday Roast but £8.00 for a mean portion) and the lack of a beer garden. I love my local me.”

“Truly remarkable gem with amazing Victorian decor. Lovely food, friendly staff. Don't agree at all with previous reviewer, who thought the place was cold and the food shabby. THE place to go for a sunday roast in North London. Thanks to 'Remarkable Restaurants' for the beautiful restoration. I will be coming back again to absorb that turn of the century ambience...”

“Very beautiful restauration but can be cold and drafty in winter. Friendly regulars pulled in from a wide area as it is the classiest pub for miles. Food in our experience has never disappointed although towards the the upper end of pub grub pricing. Some lively music events and occasionally special events. Open late. The female staff are all babes.”

“The bar has been completely redecorated returning it to its former glory. Customers on the whole are locals, and a decidedly friendly bunch, as is the management and staff. High numbers of regulars particularly friday and saturday nights when the bar is open til 1am. Both bar and food prices are expensive for the area, but the general atmosphere is some consolation for this.”

“Me and my partner visited the Salisbury on a Sunday hoping to leave having been suitably fed and watered. The Czech lager was decent. However, that was the only thing that was decent. The large Victorian pub, which I must say has potential, was probably as cold as it was in Dickens' time. Is the publican so poor that he/she cannot afford to heat the place ? We had to keep our coats on all the time that we were there. And don't get me started on the quality of the food ! The traditional Sunday lunch that was advertised is, in a nutshell, CRAP! Undercooked vegetables accompanied by overcooked potatos with dishwater for gravy. My partner had the lamb which she could have better utilised as a leather chamois. I had the chicken, which was marginally better, but not much. Stringy, dry and tasteless are the immediate adjectives that spring to mind. In fact we were so disappointed that we came home and cooked. If the publican of the Salisbury actually reads this review, my advice is sack the chef and get a decent heating system!”
