The Engineer Review

The Engineer is featured in these Guides:

Top 10 things to know about The Engineer:

1) Looking for respectable job prospects? You could do worse than consider engineering. But what are the necessary attributes to be a successful engineer? If you want to live in leafy Primrose Hill, where The Engineer pub is based, you better start burning that midnight oil.

2) You need to start off with a traditional grounding in the basics: well-used wooden benches, retro posters, barrels used as table tops. This pub is guaranteed to make you feel at home.

3) A relaxed frame of mind is crucial if you want to be good at your job. So The Engineer has a spacious, floral alfresco terrace where you can dine, imbibe or even just revise.

4) If you need food for thought, there are many options to boost brain power, including simply grilled fresh asparagus gently flavoured with Black Combe ham and truffle oil.

5) They know the health benefits of asparagus so well that it makes a repeat appearance in the main courses under the pan-fried sea bass and gratin. If that is too light an option for a hands-on engineer such as yourself, the hearty lamb rump with delectable red jus will be your ideal rocket fuel.

6) Ultimately, being an engineer also requires a bit of ingenuity. For the indecisive amongst us, the pub has devised a carrot cake and orange cheesecake combination so you can sample the best of both worlds without necessarily doubling your calorie intake.

7) What you do need is a no-nonsense, matter-of-fact attitude, not sweet and sentimental. Sadly, that is how you might feel if you order a bottle of Naked Pilgrim rose wine, which is far too sweet when matched with the savoury foods.

8)  The clever students amongst you will opt for their extensive craft beer selection instead; after all, Camden Hells brewery is just around the corner so look to the fresh tasting beer.

9) No matter what job you end up taking in life, always be attentive, alert and end a conversation with a genuine smile. This is exactly what you will get when the friendly staff at The Engineer look after you.

10) If you need inspirations for a career change, head to The Engineer at your earliest convenience.

"Dreadful pub, run by people who have zero idea about hospitality or running a pub. Upon arrival we sat in the back garden that only had one other table occupied , when we tried to order off the lunch menu..." Which venue is this?
