The Green Man Review
And no doubt he's green - green with envy of the lower priced beers available in bars that border with this nearby.
OK so they have a late license till 1 on Fridays and Saturdays but is that any excuse to charge nightclub prices at 4.30 in the afternoon?
10 feet from Oxford Street it was was hard to find any distinguishing features of this bar. The decor seems to have been from the lower deck of some Spanish galleon with the added touch of being tarted up with a bit of MFI home style.
It's bloody expensive for what it is - over 10 quid for four small bottles of beer, when we'd paid just 6 quid at the previous pub (The George, Wardour Street).
The only reason we can think to visit this place is that you're reviewing bars and have to visit every venue you pass.

“The staff are intolerant of anyone who’s first language is not English. The dictator manager has the sense of humour of a corps and should have retired many years ago. There was no need to look for signage to find the toilet as the pungent odour from fermenting old urine clearly indicated the way. The bar staff were obnoxious and not worth trying to engage in any form of conversation. It’s a perfect retreat for larger louts. ”

“Like Daisy, I'm baffled by the review posted here. I don't know in what year the review was written, but £10 for 4 bottles of beer is not 'bloody expensive', but actually very cheap considering a bottle of beer anywhere in central London will be at least £3, be it 'small' or otherwise. As for the pub, its a pretty standard traditional central London pub, pleasant but unremarkable.”

“I'm not sure when Steve wrote his review but I suggest he returns! Expensive? I think not! With draught beer from £2 you can't really complain. I've not eaten there for a while but I've had the fries and they complement the beer superbly. It's classified on here as a 'bar & nightclub' but I was say it's more a bog standard old fasshioned (almost) pub. Not posey or pretentious, just somewhere to meet with friends and actually be able to hear what they are saying to you. I'm pretty sure they accept cards over the bar now too. Maybe not somewhere you'd go for a special night out but a good spot to meet up with people after work and chill out over a beer or three and bowls of fries!”
