The George Review

The George is featured in these Guides:

A traditional name for a fairly traditional pub. Small, air-conditioned and much like many pubs in this area. Honest drinking for those not wanting to get caught up in the Soho cool.

Very light with high frosted windows, a huge mirror sits behind the bar to remind you what state you're getting into. A small, sky sports showing TV and fruit machine are positioned cozily beside tall bar seats by the window.

The kind of pub, after a near virtual descent to the loo, you're met by a bunch of urinals and NO mirror.

When 4 bottles of Becks cost just 6.00, I am a happy man...for an hour or so.

Nice!

“Small pub in the heart of Soho, good place to grab a drink after work if you don't mind standing outside with the smokers! Limited seating inside due to the size of the bar but friendly bar staff makes a change from most city bars. Be wary of the small Ladies loos and the small stairs to get there.”

“If you're trying to bag yourself a 'media hottie' - of either sex - then this is THE place to come on a Friday night after work. As it's possibly the smallest pub in London, everyone congregates on the curb outside. Cheerful, a little pricey (nearly a fiver for Bulmers!) and possibly in need of some TLC.”

“The George is a real pub in the heart of soho. All wood and by the look of it all original, the decor leaves a lot to be desired with very dirty seats and a floor that has definitely seen better days, why wo't people keep beautiful pubs up to date? The beer was great - a nice pint of Bombardier and a good selection of lagers. A bit pricy but it is soho, very freindly and efficient staff, though it was a bit noisy with the football on, i can certainly recommend The George. I for one will come back.”
