“I have been going to this bar for about 5 years now and I have to say it's my favourite bar in London. Great atmostphere, good food and excellent music. A couple of suggestions to make your night out the best it can be: Arrive around 6:30 (any later and you won't get a table), order the Texan Chilli (best chilli in town) and try to go when Ian Siegel is playing (the man is possessed with the Blues!)”

“This place is great! I can't believe the amount of people who complained about the service. Places who play live music everyday is a rarity in london. You get the sense that music matters here. Yes, it is loud, hot and crowded but the crowd is alway friendly and varied from backpacers, oaps to office workers who are letting their hair down. I really don't care about service when I am getting good live music, cheap and fast drinks. Therefore, if you want to have a good service I suggest you go to a hotel bar! ”

“I really like this place and have only started going this last couple of weeks.
But a few nights ago only because me and my friends had a chair that was in the wrong place or something one of the bar members came over and told us to move it in a very rude way. This man looked like a complete idiot to come across in such a way and upset a few of my friends that night that they don't want to go back and wrecked my night out.
I have been chatty with a few of the other members of staff and they seem really nice and thats what kept me coming back but this one with the long hair and seems to have in some kind of authority is nasty and has no brain.
I wanted to complain but there simply seems to always be a message thing on when you ring the bar.
There's always one who spoils it.
But judging by these other reviews i am not the first to experience it.”

“This bar is fantastic. With so many boring chain bars and restaurants in London, it is so refreshing to spend a night around outstanding musicians in an utterly non pretentious environment.
An amazing atmosphere and really friendly people.. although I do agree with others that the manager is a little rude, he is extremely talented and damn sexy! Everyone must try out this bar!”

“I read about the club in the Metro and thought I''d check it out, on a Saturday. They had mentioned it was small, but nothing prepared me for the size!!The atmosphere though is great! There was a gig on that night, and I loved it TOTALLY. It got rather CROWDED into the night, but that was okay...it is a great place to check out when they are having gigs...or otherwise I guess...definately going again, soon...”

“Rude, rude, rude! I decided to try this bar for my recent birthday celebrations (great way to ruin any birthday happiness), only to find the worst manners and service imaginable (I've been treated better as a backpacker in a 3rd world dive) We were told there was food (including a notice above the bar stating, "Food always available") only to be told that there wasn't and the manager said if there was food, he wouldn't serve 20 individual meals anyway (had I known it was a 1 meal choice and not what had been advertised, that may have swayed my choice of venue)The manager was incredibly rude, abusive and intolerant of customers (not the best attitude for the hospitality industry!)The music was good, but there are many venues with better. Don't expect a good New Orleans blues vibe, as you WON'T get it. Although if the manager sods off, I'd say go and enjoy it.”

“Smokey dirty venue with rude bar staff, there are plenty of places that play jazz/blues and do not over charge you and are not rude.
Music was so loud you could not hear properly, the guys on stage kept complaining to management but where ignored.
My advice try somewhere else”

“Apart from the incredibly rude manager who called my friend a twat when he ordered a drink and laughed in my face when I tried to order food (rude/weird?), the bar and blues are great”

“Hot, crowded, smokey and loud. It's absolutely effing perfect. I lived here for a couple years. And you even get real beer (Adnams and a guest ale). Ian Siegal will ruin you for any other bar room music.”

“Great atmosphere really good for winding down after a days work. Freindly people easy to make freinds. Not enough seats you may end up standing if you go late but do not know how they would get more seats in. Live music is of great standard. Drinks are a little expensive but you get to sit in a good atmosphere and have music played for you. Just a great place to go drink play cards and listen to the blues!”

“lets keep it simple... they sell Red Stripe on tap, its small and dingy with a stage no bigger than a door mat,and live blues acts every night. if your lucky then you might see Lee Sankey but more probably ian seigal. Check it out cause you never know what your missing.”

“Fabulous wee spot!! You wouldn't know you were in the centre of London... amongst some of the more 'suit' establishments of Kingly Street ... friendly staff and sounds... hang out till close and you find yourself dancing on the chairs with everyone else!!”
