Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes (Bar, Club)

Dreambagsjaguarshoes is more like a Hoxton college common room than a trendy bar. The front is (you’d never guess) like a shop front. The interior seems to simply have been ripped off to reveal some brick work, a bar installed and some decks shoved in the corner.

It is thoroughly mind boggling to think how little this place must have cost to get up and running. There are a few seats up and downstairs but mostly just floor space to occupy. You won’t have a hope in hell of getting a table at the weekend.

We much preferred downstairs with its cellar atmosphere and cosy corner couches, although it is very like being at a basement party.

As you might expect, the clientele in Dreambagsjaguarshoes are all well turned out in ultra hip clothing. The music is varied and usually pretty on the ball, being up-to-date and funky. A range of DJs play here, check around the bar for leaflets with info on up and coming fun events.

Dreambagsjaguarshoes is well stocked and has a choice of lagers on tap. Around the average price for the area, £2.80/pint £2.70/bottle. There are some nibbles available but no food menu as such.

The idea behind Dreambagsjaguarshoes is unfortunately a billion times better than the reality - having to hold your belongings and try to take a swig of your pint at the same time.

To be quite frank, this bar is a bit of a disappointment, having heard so much about it, but once inside the reality of it all is… Well, all we can say is there are so many better places to go nearby....read more
