The Brockley Mess Description
The Brockley Mess is a café, bar and gallery situated in Brockley, south east London. The café is the second venture from the team behind Royal Teas in Greenwich and as such has the same friendly feel, great food and drinks and customer-focussed ethos. We are licenced to serve alcohol and have a regularly-rotating gallery space.
We have a short but well-thought-out wine list, courtesy of 'Theatre of Wine', which features easy-drinking, accessible wines from Italy, Australia and Chile. We believe in supporting local businesses, which is why we stock two excellent Meantime beers from the Greenwich
The Brockley Mess offers something a bit different from the usual high street café. So whilst you’ll find the ubiquitous full English on our menu, you’ll also find delicious alternatives such as Eggs Benedict, French Toast and our Mexican-influenced Breakfast Burrito. We have daily hot lunch specials and a range of freshly-made baguettes and delicious home-made cakes. All our teas are loose leaf, made in the pot, and our coffee is always freshly-ground and expertly-made. At least 50% of our menu is vegetarian and everything can be taken away or made in smaller sizes for children.
We are also happy to provide free Wi-Fi, however, this service may be restricted at our discretion.
The ongoing aim for the cueB gallery is to show good quality, exciting and stimulating work of local, national and international artists, working in a variety of media. We aim to promote the gallery and the work we exhibit to a wider audience, in order to provide the artist with wider exposure beyond the mainsteam gallery context.
Brockley already has a reputation as a focus for the arts in South London. The close proximity to a number of influential institutions, other exhibition spaces and studios makes Brockley an ideal place to realise a new gallery space.
We aspire to be part of the cultural community, and hope to work with and compliment all the other great arts events already hosted in the vicinity.
