Belowzero Ice Bar Review

Belowzero Ice Bar is featured in these Guides:

Top 10 things you need to know about Icebar London:

1) London is great. It's got everything, for everyone. Some days you might want to order hummus at 3am, other days you might fancy dancing with a drag queen in a public loo. These ideas might not happen to you every day, but just knowing that they are there is both comforting and rewarding.

2) Icebar London falls in to this category. You might not want to don a poncho and drink in a room of sustainable ice from Scandinavia everyday, but you can, because that’s London.

3) Icebar London is more than just one room; there are many spaces to explore.

4) The Moose Room, for example, has crackling log fires (on TV) and log banquettes to nestle in for dinner before your cold libation.

5) The menu is a mélange of dishes chosen to appeal to diverse visitors; romantic dates, hen parties, jaded Londoners in search of a change.

6) Beer, cheese and ham is not a platter for lumberjacks but a delicate plate of smoked cheese, ham and beer jelly. There’s a vegetable garden planted with baby carrots, kale, olive soil and truffle mash. You’ll be surprised by dinner, better than you’d expect from a quirky London bar.

7) Cocktails are put together with thought and a kick. The Japanese Aviation is a mixture of gin, cherry liqueur, lemon and maraschino. After drinks it’s time to be whisked off and fitted with a blue poncho and ushered magically into the Icebar itself.

8) It all leads up to this: a frolic in a wintery wonderland where fawns nibble. OK, it’s not quite like that.

9) The small room is bedecked with slabs of crystal clear ice carved into art, skulls, seats, a bar and glasses for your (tiny) cocktail. Herds of your glacial brothers and sisters move from ice shelf to ice skull, taking pictures and daring each other to lick the ice. It’s cold (surprise!) and this will soon penetrate your gloves and you’ll have to leave to thaw out.

10) Icebar London is a strange place; a pleasant bar and restaurant that has a huge novelty shoehorned in the middle. The moment of discovery is the reason to visit, it is Narnia-esque and magical but perching on an ice shelf, with an ice cup, staring at ice sculptures is not a full night out in London. But for those of us who just need to know that they can, they’ll be rest assured that London still has a few tricks up it’s sleeve.

"My Gulascheintopf war perfekt and so was the Weissbier. I was in Kingston Steins. I do have a few suggestions for decor and table. 1. you need a little jar of toothpicks on the table to get meat out from..." Which venue is this?

"I visited browns alone after work and got convinced to spend an hour in the “VIP” room with Jennifer - which is just a corner of the private dance area - no privacy at all. I essentially paid £500 for..." Which venue is this?
