Lazeez Review

Lazeez is featured in these Guides:
Top 10 things we learnt about Lazeez restaurant:
1) If there are any publications lacking, this would be a strategy guide on how to handle the January sales, in particular the minefield that is Oxford Street.
2) Survival tip #1 would surely be finding a good vantage point; Lazeez, just off the main street by the side entrance of Selfridges, would be an ideal location to observe the local inhabitants foraging for bargains.
3) Patience is a key ingredient; you need to observe which shopping bags enjoy greater popularity. Sitting on the packed popular terrace at Lazeez, you can’t help but notice the abundance of bright yellow Selfridges bags.
4) Heading to the battlefield with man-flu is a recipe for disaster; luckily, manager Mike was on hand to recommend their specially-brewed mint tea served in an Aladdin-esque teapot. Subsequent panic visit to Boots averted.
5) I do have a distinct antipathy towards non-Spanish restaurants using the word tapas, but in the case of Lazeez it is an apt description of their offerings. Their small plates selections are numerous and mostly within the £5-£6 range.
6) To tackle the hordes of rival shoppers, you need energy. To assist your intake of calories, I would suggest a bowl of their mix pickles; the sour-tasting selection magically seems to make extra room for an endless array of tapas dishes.
7) The classics like hummus and falafel are must-haves; the former is smooth, beautifully puréed chickpeas and tahini, or enjoy the naughty deep-fried version of chickpeas with the latter. My personal favourite, though, is the Arayes, a pancake version of the Great British classic, the meat pie: thinly grounded mince lamb, parsley and wafer-thin pastry.
8) Their homemade chilli sauces are so popular, they had a local retailer walk in post-work just to purchase some. Maybe she had to let off steam after a whole day of dealing with pesky bargain hunters?
9) Forget about drinking wine for your post-shopping relaxation, it’s all about the shisha here. They have 8 wines, but 18 types of shisha on offer with curious sounding options like Bluemist – blueberry with a hint of mint.
10) With prices cheaper than most tourist traps around the Central London area, Lazeez Lebanese restaurant is the destination of choice if you want to leave some pounds for your shopping extravaganza....read more
