Little Nan's Broadway Theatre Saloon Review
Little Nan's Broadway Theatre Saloon is featured in these Guides:
Top 10 things you need to know about Little Nan’s Broadway Theatre Saloon:
1) It’s Friday night in South East London and you’re craving a lively night out. The pub seems a bit bland, and cocktails are what everyone’s fancies, so you head down to Little Nan’s Broadway Theatre Saloon.
2) A hop, skip and a jump (from Catford Bridge station) later and you find that Little Nan’s has taken over the bar of Catford Broadway Theatre, an imposing Art Deco building.
3) With a very friendly welcome from the host at the door you feel at ease straightaway and realise Little Nan’s was definitely the right choice.
4) Everyone finds their way into the bar and chooses a seat, all of them completely different. This bar looks like it was put together with the contents of 100 different antique shops. On closer inspection there’s a plastic palm tree hanging over your table and a stuffed parrot staring you in the face. This is Grandma’s house meets Caribbean beach party.
5) The cocktail menu is so vast and varied that you end up flipping coins to decide what to drink, as it’s just too taxing making decisions on a weekend.
6) From the rum menu you choose a Sebby Seb Seb. It’s got spiced rum, lime juice, mint and prosecco in it, as well as real pieces of ginger, so why the heck not?
7) When everyone’s drinks arrive at the table, there’s a resounding, “Wow!” and then laughter as you see the size of the glasses. Maybe you might only need one drink after all. And while one of you only has a teacup to drink out of, there’s a whole teapot of alcohol to go with it.
8) The cocktails are so tasty that it’s only fair you try a few more. One from the gin menu, one from the vodka menu…
9) It’s 9pm and the party’s in full swing. “Last Night a DJ Saved My Life” is blasting out and someone is passing around accessories to dress up with. There’s even an afternoon tea stand of free shots making its way towards you. Well, it would be rude not to.
10) You wake up the next day with a pink feather boa wrapped around your neck, and instantly know your pounding head was worth it....read more
