The Grenadier Review
The Grenadier is featured in these Guides:
Lesson of the day – never cheat. One unlucky officer was caught cheating at cards and subsequently flogged to death. His ghost now haunts the Grenadier keeping a watchful eye on the pubs patrons.

“What a little gem of a pub! Very traditional still and hidden down Wilton Row. When you eventually find the right road and go around the corner the pub has such an inviting look about it. Inside is small, cosy and beautifully kept. Staff are friendly and efficient and the food is good, although a little expensive. £9 for a burger with nothing else. But would still recommend it!”

“While I know this is a very famous pub in the heart of the city - I have to say I think it is overrated. Their infamous bloody mary left something to be desired. All in all I am not sure what all the buzz is about...”

“Originally the watering hole of Wellington's men, then made famous in the 80's by Yuppies quaffing bubbly and talking nonsense to each other.
Now a fantastic place to go for Sunday lunch, but book in advance as the dining room is small. Try and look as if you live in Belgravia when you walk in or people will stare. This means wear your cheapest togs and talk quietly. The Bloody Mary bar is a real saviour if you are nursing a hangover.
It is also an easy walk to Apsley House, Wellington's old digs, now a museum, if you want to look at loads of booty from his career after lunch. There is a fantastic Carravagio on the ground floor.”
