Drake & Morgan Review

Drake & Morgan is featured in these Guides:
Top 10 things you need to know about Drake & Morgan bar and restaurant:
1) If you want a typically fashionable London-Paris-Milan feel for a night out - business or leisure - which involves tasting average food and sipping excellent cocktails, this is it;
2) Elegant, metropolitan and quite fashionista, this bar (just around the corner from St. Pancras International station) lays on an extra-large space, wrapped in glass walls, over two floors, with sheer candelabras, a huge bar area and a DJ stall;
3) Near the entrance, a kitchen pod (of which there are two) is surrounded by jars of popcorn, candies and chocolate, to taste at your pleasure, making you feel a bit like Alice in the Wonderland: eat the cookie; drink the potion;
4) You can sit by the windows at a round table, on long benches, on the more traditional square tables, or position in front of the en-plein air kitchen. A long line of tables are also organised outside, on the alfresco terrace, Mediterranean style, albeit in the often windy and not so Mediterranean English weather;
5) The food is a re-edition of what we now consider traditional: lobster mac and cheese; ravioli seasoned with balsamic vinegar (we’ve seen this before); salt cream tarte and cappuccino that looks like ice cream;
6) The menu’s focus is between small bite dishes and more substantial options: delicate entrée plates, or mains, of which the signatures are grills;
7) If you give the small plates your full attention, you’ll discover a delicate tuna tartare and an interesting coupling of watermelon and cheese. Fall victim to some very trendy combinations;
8) Drinks power: virgin or very alcoholic, with everything in between. A delicious Rumble Mumble with a delicate rum, a robust Cafe Martini, a refreshing King’s Cross Fresco (with Japanese juzo and grapefruit), and a light virgin Green Means Go with a powerful cucumber aftertaste;
9) The staff are pleasant, young and have a certain vibe, but you’re left to your devices here. So, remember to ask and it shall be given;
10) This is a Mecca of popular-chic. The typical feel of a slick night out in a city that never sleeps, with a touch of after hour’s business which will impress your guests and, probably, make you close a very good deal, business or leisure!...read more
