Aces & Eights Description

Aces and Eights, a new 160 capacity saloon bar and live music venue in Tufnell Park, North London, is the latest venture from Niall and Patrick Donnelly. Channelling a rock and roll feel both in decor and philosophy, Aces and Eights epitomises a 1950s dive bar: glamour models and pin ups fight for wall space with music idols and band tour posters, while booth style seating along one side of the venue allows for intimate rendezvous. A pinball machine completes the idiosyncratic set up and is sure to keep punters entertained.

Aces and Eights stocks a wide range of premium top shelf whiskies and

bourbons alongside easy favourites such as Blue Moon and Brooklyn. A selection of cocktails completes the drinks menu, and ranges from classics to more unusual options such as Cherry Smash – Heaven Hill, Creme de Cerise, lemon and gomme and Parma Violence – Plymouth Gin, Violet liqueur and lemon.

Aces and Eights is home to Il Bacio, an independently owned pizza company. The pizzas are made on a fresh thin base and prepared to traditional Italian recipes.

The music at Aces and Eights is predominantly rock and roll – a typical playlist will include Zepplin, Stones & Thin Lizzy. In addition to hosting occasional live music, resident DJs will play regular sets. Special events including burlesque nights will complete the listings for the venue. more

“Love the layout with the booths and crazy walls. The music policy when I was here at the weekend with my girlfriend was old fashioned rock and roll (Johnny Cash, Elvis, etc) and everyone was having a blast twisting and shouting. The pizzas for £6 are a bonus, good for keeping your energy going. The down side was the bar. The bar staff weren't very helpful. Told us we HAD to buy two B52s at a time. Why?!! Plus no card payments for less than a tenner. Good times though.”
