The Queens Arms Review
The Queens Arms is featured in these Guides:
Always popular with students from the local Imperial College, especially when the college bars close during the afternoon, the Queens Arms is hidden away down Queens Gate Mews, just off Queens Gate and only five minutes from the Albert Memorial in Hyde Park. Unsurprisingly the Queens Arms refers to non other than Queen Victoria, and was built to serve the servants and stable hands that worked in the surrounding big houses and stables.
Inside is welcoming, with real ale on tap and fine food, and even when busy there tends to be somewhere you can perch yourself inside or sometimes, weather permitting, standing outside.
The self-described “pub in the mews” is worth poking your head into if in the vicinity, but not going out of your way for, and though quality of food and wine is good value, especially for Kensington, you’ll probably hear a few grumbles about the price from students (at least they looked like students).

“Came here for a Sunday roast, disappointing to say the least! There was no roast beef as advertised online so chose the chicken it was frankly a disgusting meal, you would get better in a “greasy spoon “ cafe! None of the food was crisp, possibly microwaved after being cooked. The gravy was from a packet, the veg were all mixed up and predominantly frozen peas. The “roast potato’s and parsnips had not been parboiled so were soggy and the Yorkshire pudding was leathery. Never again! The exterior of the pub is quite classy but very deceptive once you went in. Cheap tacky food with tables squashed together.”

“I loved having a few pints at the Queen's Arms. The place was quite comfortable and the staff very welcoming. Next time I'll have to try the real ale based on the other reviews.
The food was quite good, and since it was nice weather when I was there, we sat outside and admired the car showroom surrounded by college students.
All in all its become my favorite spot in London for a quiet and relaxing drink.”

“Although you'll struggle to avoid bumping into Imperial College students and staff here (the college is just around the corner) this is still a great place chill out. There's usually Hoegaarden and Staropramen on tap and a reasonable wine list. It's cosy in winter and in the summer you can drink outside on the cobbles opposite the classic car showroom.”
