Firehouse Description

This private members' club has been recently refurbished and re-launched and now attracts a dynamic and vibrant crowd from all over London. Set over three floors, each offering a different experience, FireHouse is a fantastic new venue for entertaining friends or just hanging out. Competitively priced membership ensures a diverse mix of members and guests from the young and trendy to the rich and famous.

FireHouse is housed in a Grade II listed mansion at 3 Cromwell Road, just opposite the Natural History Museum, on the corner of Exhibition Road. For the last sixty years there has been a club

in this building, which hosted John Aspinall's first gaming club, Jimi Hendrix'x first concert in the UK, and the celebrations for Tom Jones' first chart Number One.

At the heart of No. 3, the Firehouse bar provides a warm welcome to members and guests alike. Classic cocktails vie for popularity against the house mixes, such as the Fired Passion - sure to live up to its name. Gas fires and cushioned seating are perfect for a cold winter's evening, but in the summer heat, the Firehouse bar opens out onto the Terrace. Perfect for early drinks before ascending to the Restaurant or descending to Chloe, the Firehouse bar is the focus for any great night out at the club.

A stunning yet intimate nightclub venue in its own right, Chloe regularly hosts London's funkiest DJs. Lose all track of time in the underground vaults of Firehouse and let the music and heady atmosphere carry you away, or relax at a private table whilst others do the hard work.

On the first floor of Firehouse, the Dining Room was created in September 2002 as a brand new restaurant open to all. With panoramic views over the South Kensington Museums, everyone can enjoy the flavours and hospitality which have led to the Dining Room earning plaudits from top London restaurant guides such as Hardens and Zagat. The set-price dinner menu changes throughout the year to take advantage of the best seasonal products available in London's food markets.

When the mercury rises and London begins to heat up, the Terrace is the perfect place to enjoy a warm summer's evening. Equipped with a real charcoal grille, the Terrace can also be used to host small private parties, or be used in conjunction with the Firehouse bar for bigger events.

The following customer reviews are not endorsed by Fluid London and are simply those of users who wish to publish their independent experiences of Firehouse.

“A group of us went to the Firehouse after our office party which was held in the Science Museum. The doorman was unbelievably rude to my partner and I. It was raining and chilly and yet he threatened not to let us in unless we put our umbrellas down. By the time we were let in, I was soaked through to the skin in my party wear, and all my makeup had run - I felt completely humiliated, not to mention poorly for the last 2 days as a result. I spoke to a man inside who claimed to be the general manager and he was equally as rude and couldn't have cared less about the appalling attitude of the doorman. Needless to say I did not part with the £15 entrance fee. What a horrid bunch of people that run that establishment.”

“Cool club - always have a blast here. Drinks are always mixed pretty strong, and not ever had much of a problem on the door. Excellent restaurant also.”

“The doorman lacks all the skills that a doorman/frontman needs to do his job well (charm, understanding etc). It's a surprise that the club hasn't picked this up as they will continue to lose business from it. The venue could make for a great club, but the theme is upstairs/downstairs is stark contrast and it lacks the feeling of a cool place...”

“Very disappointing. We booked a table here for my cousin's hen party. We called the restaurant three times to confirm the booking. They had our party on the guest list - so were obviuosly expecting us - but didn't have our reservation for the restaurant! The acting Manager was unehlpful and unco-operative.”
