Top 10 things you need to know about Dirty Bones bar and restaurant:
1) You are now entering Bonkersville, small town America relocated to West London. Here, hotdog kids get hip hop sloppy and shot glass crazy.
2) The beautiful, youthful nouveau-riche of London take refuse amidst the nostalgic, tile-tastic, funky flea market bric-a-brac chic of this London basement bar. Bring on the late night comfort bites and quirky cocktails. The only thing lacking is a pinball machine. So let’s play human pinball on the dancefloor instead!
3) Lottie and Jemima arrived Toby, Richard, Billy and Justin; target="_blank">a ratio favouring the ladies, so be picky, girls; plenty for everyone. And handfuls of energy circulate the three rooms thanks to Thursday’s live band and DJs armed with Prince and De La Soul on Fridays and Saturdays. Get pumped up!
4) Top tip: don’t sit directly under a speaker; although, there are speakers everywhere. Not one for first dates, unless you both know sign language.
5) Snack nibblers: get your taste buds around the bee knee’s salt & peppers squid; the moreish charred padron peppers, with a kick to keep you up all night; or the big, deep fried mac balls of heavenly comfort (and who doesn’t like those?).
6) Scoffers and greedy guts: the mac & cheese is a frying pan of heart attack. Go full Americana and order burgers, waffles, flat iron steaks, beef short ribs, hot wings, cheesy truffle fries, and a Pulp Fiction fully loaded shake.
7) A cocktail or three will blur the edges of tomorrow in just the right places so chaps, grab a Dirty Bones Negroni or a cinnamon bourbon Mutt’s Nutts - both Ironmen of the cocktail world; whilst ladies, you love prosecco so opt for the sexy Lexi with its edible flower, or the Top Dog with it edible raspberry (take that 5-a-day!). And furthermore, your weekend starts early in this part of town as happy hour is until 7pm, right after work, from Tuesday until Friday.
8) Post your Dirty Bones pics on Instagram or Twitter and next time you visit this subterranean New York hideout, you might just win a free meal.
9) Cometh the bleary-eyed agony of Sunday morning; return to the scene of the crime for brunch and bottomless coffee.
10) Welcome back to the old skool; the salad days; those halcyon days; when pretense was not invited to the party and grubby footwear was acceptable. Come on, get dirty....read more
