L'Amorosa Review
L'Amorosa is featured in these Guides:
Top 10 things to know about L’Amorosa:
1) Just a short walk from Ravenscourt Park station in Hammersmith lies L’Amorosa, a simply outstanding Italian restaurant in a place you wouldn’t expect. While W6 certainly has its fair share of restaurants, there a few in the league of this little gem.
2) Such is the high standard set by L’Amorosa that it has become the area’s only restaurant to be awarded the prestigious Michelin Bib Gourmand - an award that recognises the quality of food and value for money. So, you can expect a spectacular meal at a less than spectacular price. High fives all round.
3) It’s hardly surprising L’Amorosa won this accolade as its chef and owner spent 15 years as Head Chef at Michelin-starred restaurant, Zafferano in Belgravia (and he still uses the same suppliers). Italian food lovers, please form an orderly queue.
4) On entering L’Amorosa, you’ll find a simple yet elegant setting, all bathed in soft light, making it ideal for a romantic date. It has just the right amount of covers to create a buzzing atmosphere, without being overly noisy or crowded.
5) The menu is small but perfectly formed, with a choice of salads, homemade pastas, steak, seafood and delicious veggie options. There’s also a separate specials menu, and the attentive staff are more than willing to explain each one of them in detail.
6) They’ll also happily recommend the right wine to go with your meal, many of which you may not have seen elsewhere before. Or, take your pick from a classic cocktail menu.
7) As you’d expect in a restaurant of this calibre, there is great attention to detail in both the quality and the presentation of the food. It’s highly Instagrammable stuff; you’ll be dying to share.
8) Once you tuck in you’ll know you’ve come to the right place. Dishes that could easily be so ordinary, such as mushroom risotto, are a feast for the senses; in the risotto’s case, made possible with every imaginable shape, size and texture of mushroom the suppliers could find.
9) Should there be any space left, don’t leave without squeezing in a dessert. Of particular note is the tiramisu, which, while familiarly rich and creamy, is topped with a crunch that lends it a very satisfying edge.
10) If you’re lucky enough to live locally, get yourself down to L’Amorosa Italian now. If you don’t reside in the area, but have a penchant for Italian food, put it on your list pronto. This is one of the best Italian restaurants in London. ...read more
