Pitcher & Piano Review

Hardest thing to decide with this pub and all the others of them down this part of the Fulham Road is where the nearest tube is? Kinda out on the limb, there isn’t an obvious choice – a bus ride may be in order or maybe a pub crawl (that’s how we got here), are possible solutions.

This particular Pitcher & Piano is a very welcoming version of this national chain; a couple of big leather comfy couches in front of the large full length drawback windows, varnished wooden floor, and bouncing / happy tunes on the Friday we visited. It was easily busy enough to have a good 'life' vibe but not too busy to be cramped.

There was the standard Pitcher & Piano menu: Mexican Bean Chilli for £5.75, or Beef & Ale Stew at £7.95 and the usual beers and spirits on offer.

“Seriosuly, this is a great bar. But don't go any where near the guys at the bar, or anyone for that matter that refers to women as totty... What is totty anyway - it sounds gross... Get a life, and stop hanging around the door ways of nice bars.”

“Ok, first thing, nearest tube is Parsons Green then go to Fulham Road, turn left and walk. The Bar has just been done up and is much less of a pub now, and more of a fully fledged bar. Weekdays: For the guys: Good quality of totty For the girls: Always a few guys near the door you should always speak to as they are VERY regular and always having a laugh. Friday and Saturday: For the guys: Quality and Quantity of totty very good. For the girls: Lots of good looking guys, watching the rugby on the huge, and I mean huge, screen as well as two new Plasma Screens. After the game, depending on the result, always gets steamy! Sunday: You have to go to believe it. People are coming down as far as Birmingham. Packed, do not try getting in after, say, 5pm as you will not get in for ages. Hundreds of people all having an absolute riot. Drinks: Fairly good selection of beers (NO KRONENBURG!!), 4-5 types of Champagne, 20 Cocktails but bar staff will make anything you want if you ask them nicely. Venue holds circa 250 ratio is fairly even on weekends, though weekdays more guys than girls. Music is ok, fairly cheesy, good for drunken sing songs. Lighting gets lower as the evening progresses. Onced closed, head to K Bar, Raffles or Eclipse and you'll see the same faces again and again! ”
