Percy & Founders Review

Top 10 things to know about Percy & Founders:
1) Situated on the former site of Middlesex Hospital, Percy & Founders could be the answer for the Save our NHS campaign.
2) Unlike most hospitals, there is no shortage of "bed" space here. This is a bright, airy canvas with space for more than 200 covers.
3) Diners, much like patients, require regular doses of cheerfulness. Here, they have an abundance of pop art to enliven your appetite: the centrepiece being David Hockney's original 16-piece work 'A Rake's Progress'.
4) Unique to the restaurant scene is the glass window view of the magnificent Fitzrovia Chapel, which was once part of Middlesex Hospital. The marble and mosaic interiors and the stunning stained glass windows are a sight to behold.
5) The panacea for your ills probably lies in their hearty brunch. Thankfully, they have an idiot-proof menu dividing the dishes into earlier, later and all day salads and sandwiches; in case you thought it was a great idea to have sirloin at 9am or house granola at 4pm.
6) What the doctor would order for you is a dish like beef tartare: no grilling, no frying, just pure simple, fresh ingredients. The finely chopped apples and gherkins add an extra layer of crunch to an already extremely healthy dish.
7) Although, whilst innovative, other dishes would certainly cause palpations in your family doctor. Take the crêpe soufflé: melt in your mouth marshmallow taste, but not a dish you would ever order if you saw the amount of butter, double cream and sugar used.
8) Service here is as agreeable as you would expect from any NHS trained nurse. They are ready to offer you the best table, recommend dishes and attend to your every need. Let’s hope they’re not struggling with pay cuts like their hospital counterparts.
9) For a prescription of merriment, look no further than their bottomless prosecco or bloody Mary offer for brunch. At £16 for 2 hours, this course of treatment won't increase your heart rate when the bill arrives.
10) Just in case the Secretary of State for Health is reading, please note Fluid London fully endorses responsible drinking at all times, even when you’re just having brunch in London....read more
