The New Inn Description

The New Inn dates from the seventeenth century and was originally a coaching stage post where the Ives family ran a coach service to London. The Inns extensive stable yard is now part of St Mary's Court next door.

In the nineteenth century a corridor connected the Inn to the Hall of Variety, or assembly rooms, which was Ealing's venue for public entertainment until the Lyric hall was built on the Uxbridge Road in 1887.

The pub was rebuilt in 1897 and in the 1980's the New Inn theatre was active in the first floor room until the curtain was brought down for the last time in 1985.

“Now perhaps one of the only decent pubs around Ealing. Some might complaing this has become some sort of gastropub, but what's wrong with serving decent food? The carvary is one of the best roasts you'll ever have, and the rest of the menu is always updated regularly and offers something for everyone. Perhaps the most important thing with this place is the quality of the beer. From the real ales to the Guinness, and also the range of good lagers, you're guaranteed a nice fresh pint. Gets busy and lively at the weekends, packed on Sunday lunchtime, and always shows all the big sports events throughout the week. The beer garden is huge, and the summer bbq's great.”

“Used to be good, then it had a re fit and became a gastro pub devoid of atmosphere bar the well heeled patrons it know attracts.”
