The Railway Telegraph Description

The Railway Telegraph pub, located in the vibrant and multi-cultural South East London, is situated close to the Horniman Museum in the affluent Dulwich area as well as Catford and Brockley. Built in 1876, the moniker is an ode to the first use of the electric telegraph offices that were first established in Britain 30 years previously.

The Railway Telegraph pub boasts a well known music venue which provides entertainment for its patrons nightly with R&B, reggae and more. The pub has an array of events for all including movie nights on Tuesdays, poker nights on Wednesdays and many multi-cultural

nights such as their Afro Carnival night. For those who want something private and exclusive, there is a section called the Quiet Bar.

The Railway Telegraph has a culturally diverse menu that has home-made café and pub grub food burgers and chips to dishes such as Pepper Soup and Tilapia. The pub has traditional ales and beers and a wine list that has classics such as Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Rioja, Merlot and Sauvignon.

The Railway Telegraph pub is well known for its lively atmosphere, friendly staff, a large outdoor seating area for the summer months and is child-friendly with sky sports for the men and a function room.

“I have a friend living close to this pub so I have been there quite a few times in the last year. I find the atmosphere excellent and very welcoming. There is always something going on at the weekends like DJs playing good music and the way the pub is set up I could be sitting at one end of the pub chatting and at the other everyone is up dancing to Abba or 80s soul which I love! My friend has drunk there for 12 years and says it's the best it has ever been. I love going there in the week sometimes aswell to play darts or watch the footie. I'm very impressed with this pub and the way it is run. The landlady - I think her name is Pam - seems to have put a lot of time into making sure that everyone is happy which is why i think people like me enjoy the pub so much. I have not been a one to drink in a pub like a Wetherspoon or one of them yuppie sort of pubs with no music and people sitting in there own little groups; I could do that at home with. Couple of cans! This pub has got it right a bit for everyone and also a lovely garden aswell. I'm not a big drinker but if i didn't live so far away i'd proberly be there most nights the wife would kill me lol!”
