The Square Pig Review
The Square Pig (wouldn’t it make a better-shaped sandwich?) is a jazzed up version of your local pub formula. We would definitely pop in for a swift half after work but not to kick back, drink ridiculous cocktails and discuss David Beckham’s latest Alice band.
With large windows and terracotta colours, the decor has a summery feel, which makes us think The Square Pig would be best during the summer; the beer garden bench-seats spill out onto the pavements and the glass doors are flung open. In the winter months however, the benches are brought in and it can get a bit cramped if it’s a busy night. The pub also has a huge television, which would be ideal for watching the rugger on a Sunday afternoon, drinking Guinness.
Apart from the benches, there is a comfort zone where there are a few leather chairs that one might expect to find in the Commons and people generally squabble over sitting in them. The clientele are a mostly suited professional bunch who pour out of the offices at 5.30 in search of a quick drink and bar snack at an upmarket pub before braving the tube.
The Square Pig serves standard pub drinks and basic food. The exotic stretches to the swordfish steak priced at a serrated £7.25. The music is background, coming from a jukebox and a live DJ plays occasionally. The pub is available for hire on Saturday and Sunday evenings, which is good and a minimum spend is in place of a hire-fee....read more

“This joint seriously sucked!, i'm not sure i've ever encountered such a crowd of misfits, 'special' people and ugly anti-socialites. My God I thought from the outside I'd stop for a couple in a typical old mans pub, little did I know they were trying to pass themselves off as a cultural homing center.. ha ha ha.. what a joke!
How do I say this politly .. "don't turn up sober?"”

“Square Pig, what a most appropriate name for this pub. 'Pig' being the descriptive term used to describe the majority of the punters, 'Square' as in what the conversation is between those piglets mentioned above. 'Upmarket' has got to be the most mis-placed description of a bar ever used. If this place is upmarket then 'The Slaughtered Lamb' out of 'A Yankee Werefolf in London' would be a style bar in the purest form. My advice -avoid this place unless your life depended on it. Maybe harsh but very, very fair.”
