The Lord Raglan Review
Quaint and a sure-fire hit with the tourist brigade, the Lord Raglan is a grand old pub right in the heart of the City.
Like the way pubs used to be, it’s dark, smoky but cosy with it. None of your interior design twaddle here, it’s got the whole wooden, carpeted, darkly-lit vibe going on. And it’s all the better for it.
Sadly, being in the City, it shuts up shop at the weekends, which is a shame, as the St. Paul’s district is a nice place to stroll on a Sunday – the Raglan could have capitalised on those thirsty tourists…
Currently servicing the City crowd, the Lord Raglan has a fairly good bar menu and is usually bustling at lunchtimes. A bit on the pricy side, a burger and chip comes to about £5 – Wetherspoons it ain’t!
If you work in the high-powered world of commerce, are weighed down with your cameras and A-Z's or simply in the area, the Lord Raglan is as good a place as any to kick back and relax.
