The Argyle Description
The Argyle in Greville Street, formerly the King of Diamonds, has opened its doors after a radical transformation of the pub, situated in the heartland of London’s jewellery quarter.
The pub, which is owned and operated by the Stonegate Pub Company, has undergone a significant investment giving the premises a traditional look with a modern twist.
The Argyle has three separate trading areas, all of which have been redecorated and refreshed with a new colour scheme and the introduction of new furniture and furnishings throughout. The cellar bar which is open from 5pm and can host up to 45
The ground floor bar has a new colour scheme which has seen the bar flooded with light, the warm copper lighting coupled with the rich cream on the walls and feature wallpaper gives the pub a rich glow when the day turns to night. New furniture, reupholstered fixed seating and the restoration of the wooden floors give the pub a truly traditional welcoming feel.
The first floor of the Argyle hosts the Roof Terrace area, some call it a secret garden, which seats up to 70 people and combines both indoor and outdoor seating. The Terrace area has been completely updated with new furniture, new tiling and is set to be the place to celebrate summer. Until the warmer months start to make an appearance, customers can rest easy, and warm, underneath the awning and outdoor heaters.
The change of the name to the Argyle, the biggest diamond supplier in the world, maintains the pub’s connection with the diamond industry. The Argyle offers London Pride and Doom Bar in the ground bar along with two rotating guest ales. Real ale is also offered in both the Terrace and Cellar bar. They have a Monday Beer Club where customers can get any pint of real ale for £1.99.

“The former King of Diamonds, recently underwent it's long awaited refurbishment in February '12.
Since then it has gone from strength to strength. The exterior of the pub looks much better, with new furniture, better deals throughout the week, and, a THIRD bar in the Cellar.
A great end of the week atmosphere and now open Saturday and Sunday!”

“I had a very enjoyable evening at The Argyle with colleagues after work. The sun was out so we had a few drinks on the terrace bar.
There are two other floors with a nice looking cellar bar. They had an excellent range of lagers with Peroni, Esrtella and Krombacher.
Overall, this is probably the best of the pubs I have seen in the Chancery Lane area and would recommend”
