“I visited HJB in Chelsea for a couple of drinks and some food on the 8th of October. The weather was great so we were lucky to enjoy it in the garden by the fountain-which was off unfortunatly. The setting is beautiful! Service was really quick and friendly. We ordered our coctails and food with a waiteress who helped us choose-and that was a very good recomendation! We waited around 10 minutes for our drinks which I have to admit was very quick as it was very busy.
Cob salad I ordered was massive and so were the ribs that my partner had. After first coctails we opted for a bottle of wine which was delivered within 5 minutes!
While we were eating the menageress and a waitress checked back on us.
I have to say that the service has been very friendly, attentive and knowlegable, the food great portions and delicious. I don't really understand the negative comments bellow as our experience was very good.”

“Possibly the best beer garden in London.
Pleasantly surprised by how good the cocktails were along with the staff wine knowledge. The burgers were fantastic with great sevice to match.
As an American I appreciate a bar which shows American sports, which they show all day, every day.”

“Extremely terrible service and average food. We went there yesterday with my family for lunch. the waitress managed to bring the wrong order twice, the manager, admitted the mistake but could not overcome himself and ended up accusing us of not controlling our 1,5 year son which had nothing to do with the complaint. never seen such a rude and defensive manager who also wanted to stress his unfriendly attitude to children. We got a full refund and promised never to come back. Try to avoid at all costs! Could have been a nice place because of its location and a spacious garden but clearly being mismanaged. You would expect a far better service in this area.”

“Simon D - you are having a laugh! Do you work here or something?
I'll agree with you about the girls, but the staff were slow as hell, the food was crap, and the drinks were nothing a bar of that size shouldn't have.”

“Having received a recommendation from a friend, I recently decided to celebrate my 25th birthday at Henry J beans in Chelsea. Luckily the site didn't disappoint.
I was fortunate that we were blessed by rare fantastic weather, which gave us the opportunity to wine and dine in their renowned huge beer garden. With the attractive water fountain centred in the garden and a pleasant mix of people, (the ladies really were the cream of the crop, but hey that’s Kings Road for you), we felt that there was no real need to move on any where else.
Branded as a fancy American restaurant and bar, reflected in the artwork advertisements displayed in the bar, it wasn’t surprising that the menu consisted of hamburgers and steaks. The ordering system proved to be surprisingly speedy considering it was a busy day. The food was good on the whole (even the salads), but I personally would have preferred juicy fat chips rather than fries.
What really makes Henry J Beans better than the average bar is the range of drinks on offer to suit different tastes and the friendly staff. From wines to lager to cocktails, the quality was top notch, although slightly pricey. The music consisted of a mix from funky house to r’n’b, and although there was no real designated dance floor, there was still some shaking sugar sweeties doing what they do best. The only disappointment was the beer garden having to close at 10.00pm, but you can’t have everything.
If you ever happen to find yourself in Kings Road feeling hungry or thirsty, I strongly recommend Henry J Beans. Good food, great drinks and a warm atmosphere.
