Henry Addington Review
Book a table at Henry Addington
The Henry Addington is a lively pub in the epee centre of Canary Wharf. Having recently been re-furbished, it doesn’t quite fall into the category of classy up market bar, but it also doesn’t fall in the category of a traditional British pub.
The décor is a quaint mixture of contemporary blues and rich reds, and views of the wharf means that it has a blend of old and new that is rarely seen in traditional pubs.
The Addington is open seven days a week, and serves as a daytime haunt for those who are working in Canary Wharf as well as a pub for locals. The busiest evenings of the week would have to be Thursday’s and Friday’s. On Thursdays disco balls adorn this pub when a 70’s and 80’s disco with DJ sets the tone for punters to let their hair down on the dance floor.
Friday’s are equally busy, so if you’re looking for a quiet drink on this evening, this is probably not the place for you.
The food menu consists of standard food that you would find at most good British pubs, and you can order from a variety of dishes such as sausages and mash, cold or hot sandwiches or platters. Meals start at £5.95, cold sandwiches start at £4.25 and hot sandwiches start at £4.50. Platters start at £9.95.
Desserts are also available and include classics such as Chocolate fudge cake, and apple and caramel pie. Prices start at £3.00.
If you’re a sports fan this pub boasts three plasma televisions, one projected screen and one television where you can watch all of the major games at your leisure....read more
