The Bree Louise Review
All things bright and beautiful, the Lord God made them all. That might be the case but he/she was possibly quite busy when Euston station and all its surroundings, including The Bree Louise, were made.
In an area where the No.1 pastime, according to a recent study conducted by my mates sitting in the pub, is stacking cars onto bricks (this isn’t Liverpool people!!), The Bree Louise is Beckham-freekickingly perfectly placed.
Step right up, step right up, see the freak show for yourself. Be amazed by the unusual A-board that promotes upcoming events, yet remains entirely blank. Discover an enlightening expos'e about Sol Campbell’s sexuality daubed on the toilet walls. Thrills and spills are there to enjoy on the ‘Wheel of Fortune’ one-armed bandit. Keep hunger pains at bay by feasting upon the slop-in-a-tray tucker. Don’t whittle away precious minutes (that could be spent smoking) by trying to decide which drink to choose, The Bree Louise will be sure to limit your choices for you instead. Indeed, although another A-board outside declares there to be a wine tasting every Thursday, the barman will always ask you to taste the wine before pouring as he is not quite sure when the bottle was last used (hmmm, possibly last Thursday??). And even Harvey Keitel’s Pulp Fiction character Winston 'The Wolf' Wolfe couldn’t clean up the sticky situation that you’ll encounter on the upholstery.
As for the noisy children running amok through the pub – just ignore them, why not, their parents do.
On the plus side (straws, clutching…), the hanging baskets, spring flower boxes and ivy creeping indoors are an interesting addition.
Nice foliage! Otherwise 2 out of 10...read more
