The Duke of Edinburgh Description
The Duke of Edinburgh is featured in these Guides:
A bit tricky to find is The Duke Of Edinburgh, tucked well away from the Brixton hubab down Ferndale Rd. Upon entering there isn't much that grabs you out of the ordinary: normal beer reasonably priced, efficient staff, music, live sport, table footy, dart board and pool table (which is a plus). What really makes the Duke stand out from the crowd is the extensive beer garden out the back - it's like stepping into another world, it's massive. With BBQ over the summer months and gas burner torches to keep that nip in the air away from you, this pub is definitely worth checking out.

“used to be an amazing pub, full of regulars who were great local characters, now seems intent on turning a once great traditional backstreet boozer into a souless gastropub”

“One of the best and biggest garden bars in London. They are now doing a great bbq Friday evenings and Saturday and Sunday from 2.30pm, great food. 3-4 min walk form Brixton Tube or 8min from Clapham high st. Friendly and fun staff, all very relaxed in a professional manner. Great hidden treasure of the busy roads.”

“Have been drinking in this bar for years and always wondered why management were insistent on playing dreadful overloud music. But now its quite pleasant in there. Foods good, non-threatening natives and pool, waheeeyyy!!”

“Good music, beer garden is a nice touch. My bottled drinks were 3 months out of date which is unacceptable.”
