“Great times! I visited you almost every Sunday I could in the early 90's. I actually made it on stage with the strippers twice. My dad loved it too. Great memories that I will always cherish.”

“All I can say is WOW, I am originally from Ealing, London England. I now live in beautiful Detin Florida. I have had so many people ask me have I ever been to The Church, of course I have back in 1980/81 I won one of the wet T.Shirt contest and went to Switzerland sking..... I am now 44 and could probably still win a wet t shirt contest. The church was The Bag back in the day and sounds like it's still going. Great experience in my younger days, everyone you just have to go. I hope to stop by again, just keep having FUNNNNNNNN. Thanks Sue ”

“Regular Sunday Service parishioner in early 90's. Words do not do it justice. Of particular interest were the two queues to get in... one for brits and the other for the rest of the world. The brits had to wait until the rest of the world were admitted. The industrial wasteland of its Kings Cross warehouse setting made The Church a holy relic. Indeed a religious experience.”

“Went to church in 1995, and was so lucky to have the female stripper pick me to give her a oil massage - to my misfortune, she poured oil all over my hands and arms only to leave me without letting me massage her. Still some of the best trips ever...”

“Went to "The Church" first time in 1988 or 89, when it was still on Tottenham Crt Rd. I was 19 and club had been going ages. Everyone was talking about how much better it used to be in the other place (can't remember where that was) but anyhow... there was this competition on stage this afternoon; you who can swop your clothes with your patner the quickest wins a price! 8 pints of lager later, I win the prize, jolly! Together with this bloke I've never seen before. A week later "The Church" phones me up and asks when WE would like our Paris-weekend. Wish at least I had A phone number...”

“The Church is amazing. Between 1990 and 1996 I spent so many fantastic afternoons at the Church, followed on by Backpackers (across the road when it was in Kings Cross). Enjoyed it so much that I emigrated to Australia - to get an Ozzy bird of my own. My advice - go there, get drunk, snog and root as many as you can.”

“Its been 5 years since I left London but the memories of the Church will never fade away. Man I loved that place, nothing better than a banging night at Frantic of Fevah only to keep banging the next day at the Church and then the Red Back. If only Perth had the same thing.”

“Great place, only been there once and i'm dyin to go there again, why sit at home on a sunday complaining of a hangover when you can get straight back up on the horse and do it all again. Strippers, titty cams, bag of cans and drunken women. What more do you want?”

“Woke up in the morning after only 3 hours sleep and my mate brought me my medicine - a caffeine tablet and a shot of sambuca. Coming from Sydney, I had never seen anything like this place it was unreal, from being served a minimum of 3 drinks in a plastic bag, to seeing everything from comedy, porn, golf to vomit, plasticbags on peoples heads, and beer races and then coming outside and realising it is only 4pm and daylight. What a quality day. I would recommend it to anyone. Bloody ripper! Worth way more than what you pay for!”

“A friend woke me up on a sunday morning with a shot of tequila, he said lets go to the church - all the boys are waiting, it was winter and I was still drunk from the party the night before! In there I just got hammered again, vomited on myself, singed and hugged my friends that were even worse then I was, kissed 2 girls and one went home with me, I think she was scandinavian, I didn't understand what she was saiyng! Il'l aways remember it, one of my best afternoons I miss it!!”

“The church is a really horrible place and I'd highly recommend that you stay away. I went with a group of friends to say goodbye to a friend who was returning to Australia and we've never had a worse afternoon out - ever. The drinks system when you can only buy three cans at once, which you then have to carry round in a plastic bag, is ridiculous. The venue was filthy and hard to get to. The music was rubbish. The 'entertainment' was a scrubby old stripper who got so graphic we were all embarrassed and a fat compère shouting 'we want tits' on stage. The crowd is made up of a load of louts trying to grope you and vomiting over themselves. If you view this kind of thing as good unpretentious fun and a real laugh then by all means go - if you want anything more from your afternoon than the lowest, nastiest, misogynistic setup imaginable, then stay the hell away.”

“I know I'm going to get shouted down like poor Williams further down the page, but here goes anyway. On the occasion that I went to the Church, there were some medics from St Guy's there raising some cash for the hospital. They got up on the stage and were generally having a good time, joining in the drinking games and raising money for a good cause. One of the female medics was asked to remove her top by the compère, and when she refused she was loudly booed by the whole crowd. That's right, they booed a doctor who was raising money for charity because she refused to flash them. So if spending time with the fine specimens of humanity who made up the crowd sounds good to you then by all means go, but don't say you weren't warned.”

“This place is fantastic! Ignore Williams, he/she hasn't got a clue. It's a Sunday like no other, and as a Church veteran of over 7 years I do know what I'm talking about. And I'm not fat or obscene, nor have I ever puked at the Church. In fact, I've never seen anyone puke at the Church in those 7 years. Williams, you don't know pure, unadulterated fun is.”

“Its worth a vist just for the DJ Dean Courtney. Favourite sounds we`ve all forggotten. Not the usual sit on the fence and thump and bump. This boy's got the personality to run the country.”

“Mr Williams, you must have took a wrong turning in Kentish Town, you were looking for the old St John the Baptist, two blocks up... much more your scene. THE Church is a legendary place of biblical proportions, frequented by persons of only the highest calibre, who know how to smile, laugh and party properly.... who truly know how to make full use of their weekends, however whether or not they actually make it to work on Monday morning is qutie another matter.”

“Great afternoon out if you need to snog numerous people. Guarenteed. Just let's go back to Kings Cross though. There is less atmosphere and too many lights on at the Forum. Mind you, at least you see the ugly blokes first!”
