Gordon Ramsay Petrus is featured in these Guides:
Apart from being an exceptional Bordeaux wine, it is also one of the top fine dining restaurants in the Gordon Ramsay Group. It was awarded with a Michelin star in 2011 and voted No1 restaurant on Tripadvisor in London in 2013. It offers a stylish and modern French menu with touches of theatricality in the food. The dining room has a central wine cabinet feature and is mostly beige in colour. It is located in Kinnerton Street, Knightsbridge, which is an ideal location for such a high end establishment.

“Petrus is Gordon Ramsey's reclamation of the previous Marcus Waering-run establishment in the Berkeley Hotel.
Petrus is a beautiful restaurant with a glorious central wine storage pillar that shows off probably the world's most extensive collection of Petrus wine. The dining room is luxurious, thickly carpeted, heavyweight cutler, crystal glassware and offers a real sense of decadence.
It is such a shame then that the food doesn't quite match up to thie tactile experience. The flavours in general were a tad insipid - the majority of the dishes didn't really offer a true wow factor in the mouth. Yes, the plates are glorious to look at and it is like art, but eating with only the eyes is a little empty as an experience. Although in saying all of that, the best end of Devon lamb with sweetbreads was sensationalr.
However, and this may just be my rose-tinted spectacles talking, but Marcus Waering did it better when he ran Petrus at the Berkley. There was something even more special about Marcus' cooking, an almost ethereal lightness of touch that in no way detracted from the fullness of flavour on the plate.
Make no mistake, Petrus is pretty good, but doesn't always live up to the hype. It isn't all that expensive at £60 for three courses so is actually quite good value in relative terms! I'll be back eventually, but I think I'll go and visit Marcus first to compare!”
