The Prince Albert is featured in these Guides:

Top 10 things you need to know about The Prince Albert:

1) It’s a summer’s day and you’re walking through Battersea Park, slightly dazzled by nature’s opulence, when suddenly you see it: a welcoming country pub from another era, a mirage. Just remember to look both ways before crossing busy Albert Bridge Road.

2) The Prince Albert pub in Battersea is a great excuse for walking through the beautiful park, knowing that you can get a very enjoyable drink in its beer garden at the end. There’s plenty of outdoor seating, and heaters for an all-year summer climate.

3) The Prince Albert is a dog-friendly pub, great for pug-spotting. You can take your furry friend with you, and you’re likely to meet your dog-sitter spending his salary at the bar. What’s the point in cat cafes anyway?

4) Vintage dog prints are part of the interior, which is spot-on, especially on the first floor, complete with bookshelves and a fireplace. Quirky accessories (i.e. a paper lamp in the shape of a deer head) give the classic décor a sophisticated twist.

5) You’ll share all this with a well-educated crowd, mostly locals and regulars. And their well-educated dogs, obviously.

6) The Prince Albert wants to give itself a royal tone. It’s clear from the food price list; a bit above your average gastropub, but some dishes are worth that extra penny, especially the impressive wood pigeon wellington starter.

7) The quintessentially British menu features well-executed classics the likes of fish and chips, and sausages and mash. Some details make all the difference: you can choose between fries and chips; and your cheeseburger comes wrapped in a paper bearing the pub’s royal emblem - a classy touch like no other.

8) On the downside, service is rather slow. But nobody seems to mind too much: The Prince Albert is more a place to spend a long lazy evening than rattle through a quick dinner. And let’s be honest, where would be rushing off to anyway? This is Battersea after all.

9) The Prince Albert is a true local gem. A quick walk around the neighbourhood will testify that there’s no other spot this lively, popular or full of cheer.

10) This pub has even some serious educational ambitions. Check for cooking and gin master classes, or pop in on a Monday for the quiz night.

““ABSOLUTELY DREADFUL” 1 of 5 stars Pending review A group of four of us dropped into this establishment last wed for lunch. We were impressed by the style & cleanliness& the fact that the staff took our drinks & food order at the table.Uhfortunately 20 mins later things started to go wrong We were informed by the waiter that they were unable to make the sandwiches as they had no avocado This was at 1pm ???We revised the orders to steak sandwiches. After 25 mins I asked what had happened to the drinks.Thew waiter sated that the "ticket" had been lost & he would personally prepare them.Drinks duly arrived. After 3/4 of an hour the steaks arrived They consisded of 4 slices of plain white bread with miniscule pieces of thin beef served cold with piles of onion on top. .The waiter returned to ask us about our meal,We responded saying steak should be served hot not ice cold & additionally it was gristly .The gristle was on display on one of the plates.I advised him that he neede to tell "The Management" that these problems needed addressing. He duly returned & said the chef had told him the meat was cold as it had been put in a "Marinade" I have never heard of anything so ridiculous .No comment was made regarding the "gristle"What planet are these people from ??We directed our complaint for management to address. They failed to see us personally Complaints are for management to resolve they are paid to deal with complaints. You don't put that responsibility on the serving staff they are not paid for it.Unfortunately its becoming more & more evident management keep out of the way of complaints .The prices charged in this establishment are high .Thats fine if the service & quality of food are good .Here its not so .My suggestion is that the "Management" go to Weatherspoons & learn a few basic lessons .We wont be back take my advice "Avoid" Visited June 2016 ”

“If you have just been round Battersea park or are shopping on the Kings Road then this is not a bad place to stop for some refreshment. It looks good from the outside and is warm on the inside. (Always a winning combination ladies...) Beers at £2.50 a pint are good value.) The only down side of my visit was spotting someone from Fame Academy, which if totally sober would be enough to put me off my drink. Apart from this nasty little surprise I''d go again.”
