Rodizio Rico Description

Rodizio Rico is featured in these Guides:

London’s only authentic Brazilian ‘churrascaria de rodizio’ – Rodizio Rico.

Churrascaria (pron. shoe-hoss-korea) translates as barbecue in Portuguese, while Rodizio means rotating, referring to their unique style of service where experienced passadors (meat carvers) pass from table to table slicing different cuts of meat from skewers onto your plate.

At Rodizio Rico, their selection of meat is extensive with delights including leg of lamb; beef in a variety of cuts from silverside to picanha, the heart of the rump; pork; chicken thighs and chicken wings as well as authentic specialities such

as chicken hearts. You can also help yourself to the vast array of traditional Brazilian hot dishes and exotic salads available on their buffet, all freshly made to time-honoured recipes.

Everything at Rodizio Rico is expertly grilled to keep it succulent and full of flavour. If you have a preference for how your meat is cooked, just let one of their passadors know. No craving is too large at Rodizio Rico and their waiters will continue to serve you freshly grilled meats until you can eat no more. A pure carnivore’s delight – all you need is a hearty appetite!

“The staff was very friendly and the whole process was explained to us.They give u a card that u can flip over as it has two sides:red means "pls stop i dont want any more meat" and green means "please bring more meat".Our waiter was was amazing as he was actually taking care that everything was fine at our table. There is a vegetable buffet included if u go for meat;which is quite extense;but not all of it is vegetable on it which is a bit confussing;so u must read the labels. Now;the desserts are quite expensive;valued from 5-6.30 pounds which is quite dissapointing. The cocktails are a bit expensive but i can say they are amazing. The whole experience overall was lovely;and our waiter was amazing;so we were happy to pay for the service charge(even though i was told the waiters just get like 10% of it and the rest goes to the owner of the restaurant?)”

“Went to Rodizio Rico last night and actually found the staff to be rather pleasant, drinks came thick and fast and the service was brilliant was very full quickly. If you want great service from this place I would suggest going Monday - Thursday as I know on Friday - Sunday they are very busy & service will probably be a little under what it is supposed to be. The only thing I would say to people going is don't fill up on the buffet as the meat is great....”

“Long story short: Upper Street branch, crappy, rude service. Waited forever for our drinks. We had to before the next table arrives, but it took them so long to print the damn bill, we wasted another half hour sorting it out! We asked that we just get another bill printed so we can speed it up and was refused and rudely reprimanded. Shocking. We where then called back, because we didn't pay a drinks bill (another one, which was seperate, but not presented to us at time of paying). We explained this and that started a huge argument with "bouncer / manager". Never again man. The food wasn't even that great! Overcooked, cheap meats, rude waiters running back and fro, nobody explaining how we should order / how the system works. Restaurant was loud and chaotic and not a very nice ambience. Just rubbish and totally over priced for what you get. Give it a wide berth.”

“Great Brazilian restaurant where they bring out lashings of lovely grilled, skewered meat to your table and a hearty buffet to eat at your hearts content. Great, extensive wine list. Very busy last night, for a Thursday - but no lapse in the excellent service. Wonderfully cooked meats. Would definitely go again and again.”

“I have been to Ridizio Rico in Angel some times and I strongly advise anybody looking forward to have a nice time not to go this place. I arrived there at 10 pm and a very rude waitress received me saying that they were closing the buffet and if we wanted to stay we should think because in 30 minutes they would send us home. So we came in and after 15 minutes nobody took our drinks order and I had to ask 2 different waiters for it. During the dinner most of the waiters were rude with us and a night that supposed to be very enjoyable was horrible. And just to finish off when we were paying the bill, the waitress that received us was once again very rude when i said they did not deserve to be paid the service charge. She said this sentence: " If you don't pay the service, it doesn't make any difference for us at all, we don't mind, it is bad just for the restaurant!" After this experience I will never go back there and I will strongly advise anyone I know not go there again. PS: I am a waitress as well, so I know what I am saying and I would never complain about something that isn't important.”

“I am a regular at this restaurant and to be honest I only come for the food. The service is appalling and staff are very rude and miserable. On my last visit I asked the Waiter for a bowl of hot water to heat up a bottle. First of all a bowl came then second attempt a bowl with cold water and ice came and then third time lucky a bowl of hot water came. The waitress kept taking away my spear plate with meat on it that I was was waiting to eat. I only go for the food and I've given up on leaving a tip because the service is terrible.”

“Although Friday night was very busy, the service wass very bad - all the waiters are rude and not cheerful. They advertise that they serve meat, all we got offered was chicken wings, chicken hearts and garlic bread in 45 minute even though we saw some waiters walking around with nice joints of meat. The bill was £50 it would’ve been cheaper if I went to the pub and ordered a steak and most probably better service. Staff kept on asking if we finished and cleared our plates every 5 minutes as if they wanted us to leave and we had only been in the restaurant for 20 minutes - will never go back.”

“One of the most gluttonous repulsive places I have ever been. You walk into the smell of meat, nothing else, and that's exactly what you get. You look around at the clientele of overweight unhealthy looking men and you begin to realise where you are. The type of crowd you might find in Fatty Arbuckles. The basic premise of the place is you can eat as much meat as you like. Guys keep coming every few minutes with skewers of chicken kidneys, pork, and beef until you basically can't eat anymore. The quality is low of course, like any eat as much as you like type place. So if you like eating probably 50 animals in a go while surrounded by people with grease running down their chins this is the place for you, otherwise steer well clear.”

“We were very disappointed about the quality of food. Self service buffet choice and quality was low for the price paid and the meat was very tough and some kind uneatable. Cocktails were watery and tasteless. Would not go back or recommend unless you are only interested in quantity of food!”

“My brother recommended the restaurant (Upper Street) after dinning there with his mates a few weeks back. I read most of the reviews I could find before booking a table for 9 people last Saturday (15th Dec) - I was a little bit apprehensive. Anyway we had a mixed bunch of adults and children and we all had a nice time. Half of our group was at least 1 hour - 2 hours late (African Time!!!!) so we stayed there for about 4 hours in total. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. The food was varied (buffet area) but I did not sample enough to pass a balanced judgement. The meats were very good/good and they kept it coming even though some of us were very late in arriving, they fed us continuously for 4 hours. The drinks like previously mentioned by other reviewers were overpriced for a glass packed with ice and a dash of pop, also maybe the £20 charge should include seafood (wings, sausages and drummers don’t cost that much surely??). Anyway I enjoyed myself and so did the others, the ham and lamb shank were tasty, so was the garlic beef. The children loved their dessert but I guess kids are easily pleased with a couple of scopes of ice cream and wafer stuck in.... I will go back there again. I need to say though - maybe people should mark clearly which Rodizio Rico they went to and what time. We arrived between 2-4pm so it was not that busy so we didn’t have to wait for more meat or get extra drinks in. The place was not that busy as it was in between lu”

“I went to this restaurant tonight with a USA guest. We were assigned a table that was so tight we could not fir in to the chairs. At this point the restaurant was a quarter full. We complained and were then assigned to a table at the back of the restaurant and were afforded no service. We left but the lady assigning tables refused to speak to us. As a local i was very embarrassed and will never go again.”

“Fantastic restaurant for carnivorous types or hungry boys as you can have as much BBQ meat etc as you like for a set price. Friendly staff, perfectly cooked meats, and a great salad bar. The salad and hot buffet selection changes frequently too so its good for repeat visitors. One word of warning though, the deserts are overpriced and not that great. Certainly not to the high standard of the rest of the meal. They also do a great sangria.”

“Delicious! and great fun. Really good for meat eaters with a big appetite, as you can eat as much excellently grilled meat as you like. I wasn't so impressed with the seafood option, so I would advise to stick to the meat menu. Enjoy!”
