Banana Tree Description

Just a banana skin slip away from Angel tube station, Banana Tree is a fast-casual ‘Indo-Chinese’ café serving fresh street food, in a laid back environment.

Inside, the large restaurant has low lighting, neutral toned walls, benches for communal style seating and huge windows to watch the outside world go by.

The good value menu reads like a gap year traveller's check list, with dishes taking influence from Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thaliand and Malaysia. An authentic selection of dishes and specialities include Kajang satay chicken, spring rolls made with fresh lettuce leaves and double

cooked crispy pork on the starters menu.

Main courses comprise of hearty wok-cooked phad Thai noodles, roast duck curry, tamarind and aubergine stew and chargrilled meat, including the popular blackened chilli pork. There are a small selection of desserts including the coconut stuffed pancakes and Balinese pudding, served with ice cream.

The drinks menu is varied with raw juices, herbal teas, wine, spirits, beers and the famous cocktails such as the Dirty Thai Guy with Captain Morgan rum, Cointreau, lime juice, nutmeg and lemongrass.
