Alpine Party Huts Give Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland More Appeal
Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland has suddenly become a little more appealing this year with the debut of the brilliant Bar Hütte. Escape the queues, tourists and screaming kids and enter a haven of festive fabulousness in this mini village of Alpine hüttes (huts), all fully heated and complete with rustic wooden décor, fairy lights and a dedicated host serving hot and cold refreshments. Each hütte can seat up to 10 guests and are available for private hire daily from 10am-10pm. Get together with your friends and colleagues and enjoy Winter Wonderland in style this year. Southbank Gets Festive!
Following the huge success of his summertime Southbank pop-up, Jimmy Garcia returns to the same area with his very festive Winter Lodge. Launching in November and staying put until the end of December, the beautiful two storey winter cabin will feature a walk-in alpine style bar and sheltered rooftop dining space (reservation only). Expect a menu of traditional fondue served with artisan breads and hot potatoes, accompanied by a variety of hot toddies to warm you up on those cold winter nights. Rooftop Ice Skating Anyone?
Fancy a glide around London's only rooftop ice rink? Then head to the neon lit winter playground that is Skylight, launched in November 2017 at Tobacco Dock in Wapping. Skylight is the place to be this winter with ice hockey shooting, indoor and outdoor heated areas and incredible city views. Resident DJ's will be banging out the tunes whilst the urban après skate bar serves up seasonal drinks, fondue and street food. Find out more here
Canary Wharf's Very Own Igloos
Canary Wharf plays host to its very own set of giant winter igloos this festive season at Drake & Morgan's The Sipping Room, six to be precise. Available for private hire for groups of up to 8 guests, the festive igloos come with electric heaters, hot water bottles and sheepskin throws to keep guests warm and cosy and if that doesn't do the trick, Drake & Morgan's signature Aran jumpers certainly will. Sip on festive cocktails and tuck into tasty sharing plates and yummy canapés including Christmas classics such as pigs in blankets and Stilton and walnut tarts.
London's Favourite Ski Lodge
Bloomsbury hotspot Montague on the Gardens bring back their fabulous Alpine Ski Lodge this year, one of London's best winter party venues. Discover a magical space of twinkling fairy lights, pine trees, falling snow and reindeer, guaranteed to get you in the festive spirit. The Log Cabin is especially cosy with its roaring fire, cosy armchairs and beautifully decked out Christmas tree. At the centre, the bar serves a fine choice of seasonal drinks and snacks from hot spiced cider and mulled wine to shots of flavoured vodkas and schnapps, perfect for those cold winter nights. The Montague on the Gardens Ski Lodge is open from 16th November to 20th January.
East London's Winter Playground
Always a popular destination in the summertime, Roof East in Stratford has transformed into a fabulous Winter playground this festive season with London's only rooftop curling experience complete with six lanes to enjoy. That's not all, warm up in the brilliant neon-lit Ski Lodge Bar where the shots are lined up on a ski (yes, you did read that right) or head to Jimmy's Lodge or Crazy Pig for a fabulous feast of slow cooked hog roast or oozing raclette topped burgers. Why not head to one of the brilliant igloo dining dens where you'll be served an array of mouth-watering sharing boards as well as hot toddies and ice cool drinks to wash down the après-ski feast. Igloos can be hired for an hour and half with a minimum spend of £80 redeemable on food and drinks. Winter at Roof East opens Tues-Fri 5pm-11pm and Sat 12pm-11pm.

A Magical Wintry Forest in St Paul's

Taking over from the ever-popular Neverland, Winterland will set up home on a disused stretch of Fulham riverbank and promises plenty of festive fun for everyone. Expect a whole host of fun activities including curling, mini golf, ping pong and even Prosecco pong or tuck into Jimmy Garcia's mouth-watering fondues, steaks and raclette burgers. Head to the cosy winter lodges in the enchanted forest or cosy up in one of the riverside igloos. Winterland launches on 9th November is open Thurs-Sat right up until Christmas. Paddington Pop-up Gets all Festive
Pergola on the Roof is always hot property during the summer months and is now set to become the pop-up du jour this winter too. The popular Paddington pop-up has been transformed into a beautiful mystical winter forest complete with a covered dome and heating to keep you toasty on those chilly winter nights. Patty & Bun, DF/The Mexico, Tonkotsu and Made of Dough serve up a fine selection of warming dishes with self-service kiosks so that you can mix and match to your heart's content.
