Whether you want to watch the athletics, the cycling, the swimming, the rowing, the diving, or any of the other sports that Team GB will no doubt excel in and claim Olympic gold (silver, or bronze) medals for, then here is a quick list of where you can go to watch the Rio Olympic Games live from Brazil on the big screen. In addition, check out London's sports bars.

There is no better place to experience the thrills of the Rio Olympics than at the Rio Boteco summer pop-up. It is housed in the Institute of Light in London Fields which is Hackney's latest art house hub. They are offering classic Brazilian dishes using authentic South American ingredients as well as a few modern interpretations and an excellent selection of caipirinhas and Brazilian-inspired beverages. They will be showing key highlights from the games, including the closing night, and there will no doubt be a carnival atmosphere in Hackney.

The Coca-Cola London Eye will be Glowing for Gold this August, displaying a special light show set to illuminate the South Bank every evening Team GB win a gold medal. Rio-revelers will also be invited to pick up the party further down the South Bank at Cabana's CopaCABANA beach pop-up (pictured above), where guests will enjoy a free caipirinha cocktail or soft drink when they show their London Eye ticket.

We've been feeling nostalgic about London 2012 for four years so where better to enjoy the excitement of the Rio Olympics than the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in East London at Beach East. Recline with a cocktail or juice on the purpose-built beach until 4 September and enjoy a range of rides and activities to keep you entertained between the sporting events. A variety of food stalls will be open daily and Pub Tropicana will be serving delicious British favourites to enhance that patriotic feeling.

Watch the action unfold on the giant screens of St Katherine Docks, running throughout the Olympics (and showing the England vs. Pakistan cricket matches), the Piazza is an ideal place to soak up the sporting spirit. Summer vibes all round with deck chairs, Pimms only a hand stretch away, and luscious green (albeit fake) grass, expect tears, cheering and plenty of team spirit. The Slug and Lettuce will be providing the eats and the British Olympic team will be providing the excitement.

Perched above the famous Italian restaurant, Bunga Bunga, Cocobananas is set across two floors which includes a casa nocturna and a beach shack bar with the combined space being able to hold 210 revellers. It is a celebration of everything that is Brazilian from the cocktails to the music, which can range from bossa nova to Brazilian electronica. They also have samba dancers on to help get the carnival atmosphere started. They will be running various special events throughout the Olympics including special supper clubs to celebrate the beauty of Brazilian cuisine.

The Hoxton is bringing Brazil to Shoreditch by way of Hox de Janeiro, a Brazilian themed summer pop-up. Running for two weeks in August, Hox de Janeiro will be screening all of the Games and serving up a bespoke Brazilian food and cocktail menu. But that's not all — there's be samba classes, surfing classes from Gymbox, Brazilian designer sample sales and even, Brazilian waxing in the bedrooms of the hotel.

The fun, friendly, Scandinavian themed bar, Nordic has authentic food and drink, and happy hour deals every day; plus, you can watch the Olympic Games live on the big screens and even get involved with a game of ping pong!
