Can't wait to see Joe and Jake representing the United Kingdom at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest on 14th May in Stockholm, Sweden? Will the British duo, formed on the stage of The Voice UK TV show, succeed in the epic clash of European vocal talents following Sweden's victory last year?

Hope springs eternal, they say, so if you're ready to believe and would rather spend the night your kinfolk out and about in London than at home on the couch, alone, then a number of London bars are screening the Eurovision Song Contest in its entirety; and some are going that extra mile to maximise the cheesy Eurovision party atmosphere.

The Water Poet in Shoreditch will be celebrating Eurovision on nine screens throughout the venue. A Swedish theme will take over the menu (meatballs, anyone?), and Scandinavian fancy dress is highly encouraged, with a free cocktail for the first 50 to arrive in a themed outfit. Free entry, 5pm-12am.

Head to Roxy Bar and Screen in Southwark and enjoy the Eurovision final with a special menu of food and drink. Awaken your patriotic pride and follow the action while enjoying the free canapés and a glass of fizz. 9.30pm onwards, £12 ticket.

Thirst Bar will make the most of Eurovision's spirit. Watch the show on the venue's four screens and expect a night of enthusiastic exuberance: unusual cocktails, special prizes, and a live DJ for the after-party. Tickets from £5, 5pm-3am.

For a night to remember, go to gay bar Village Soho, and sing along to the Eurovision contestants while enjoying signature cocktails and nibs. This famous Soho venue has three floors of dance floor and lounges - staying for the after-party is a must.

On the hunt for brilliant burlesque, killer comedy and outrage-inducing oddness? Then look no further. BackCOUNTER Lounge (the ‘playground of Vauxhall') is back with Sassy Saturdays on 14 May with May Madness and a celebration of all things camp and Europe. Internationally-ignored superstar Vanity Von Glow will provide pre-Eurovision entertainment, and will be joined by cabaret stars Ivy Paige and Dusty Limits for a running commentary, with musical interludes accompanied by the delicious Duncan Day. Tickets are only £10.

Celebrate the Eurovision Scandinavian style. With an authentic Scandinavian design, food and drinks, Nordic bar is where you can catch all the action live across three screens. Tickets are just £7.90, which includes your first drink. There's also 2-4-1 beers and ciders from 5pm-7pm. Not one to be missed!
