Your friends are busy hashtagging #foodporn #musicporn #adventureporn on their social media pages. What should you do? Type www.fluidlondon.com of course! You will be the go-to person amongst your friends for organising weekend activities. So, our suggestions for the coming weekend:
1) Jamm like a real Jamaican
The best way to celebrate Jamaican Independence Day this year is at the legendary Brixton Jamm. Wray and Nephew Overproof Rum's Jamaica Rum Tings event series brings the ultimate celebration of Jamaican roots, heritage and it's impact on UK culture. There is an incredible line-up including the best in drum and bass, reggae and the 100 top tunes in Jamaican music. There will be a live graffiti wall, perfect pour challenge, rum punch relay race and much more from 2pm - 3am. There will be a free reggae rum punch for the first 100 through the door.
2) Let's begin the countdown for Rio 2016
In less than one year, it will be the start of the Rio 2016 Olympics. To celebrate this Saturday between 1-8pm, it will be Brazil Day in Trafalgar Square. There will be beach volleyball in the square, a beach volleyball fitness class, a forró dance and a street carnival bloco which everyone will be welcome to follow through the square. You can also sample the cultural diversity of Brazil through various musical performances and street food stalls, and get a glimpse of the final preparations for Rio 2016, as well as discussions about Brazil's diverse eco-system.
3) House of Vans London first birthday
To celebrate one incredible year since the opening of the House of Vans, they have curated a wonderful weekend of activities for the whole Vans family. There will be workshops, giveaways and a skate school all weekend. There will be a pop-up photo exhibition, House of Vans London: What We Did Last Summer, which captured the transformation of the Waterloo railway arches to its current state. There will be classic films shown as well as dub cutting workshops, a braid bar and a t-shirt making workshop.
