London is home to some of the world's most marvellous city parks and during this festive season, amidst the bustling city, the roaring traffic, and Christmas lights, the crackling of frosty leaves is never far away.

Christmas is a time for entirely forgivable and totally necessary indulgence and as London loves its food, what better way to enjoy London's fabulous restaurants than by following dessert with a magical winter stroll?

Here is list of eight such London restaurants that fall neatly into that leisurely winter post, or even pre, indulgence walk category. Lose the uncomfortable work shoes, and slide on some wellington boots; let's take a stroll through London's best strolling restaurants.

The charming interior and mouth-watering cuisine of Angelus have made it a treasured secret spot in London. Within seconds, you can escape London to a bolt-hold of pleasure. Dark wood, sumptuous fabrics and elaborate mirrors help create the atmosphere of an elegant French brasserie. Its owner, Thierry Tomasin, has a Gallic passion which, when combined with award-winning cuisine and a formidable wine list, make Angelus a regular treat. The restaurant is also just minutes from the Serpentine Boating River in Hyde Park that stretches across 40 glorious acres to explore. Rich with wildlife and stunning London views, this walk is the perfect way to spend a crisp, winter afternoon.

Roux at The Landau

Based inside one of London's most fabulously luxurious hotels, The Langham, Roux at the Landau is one of the city's most classic fine dining French restaurants. Their Head Chef Chris King is multi-award winning Roux Scholar who is consistently developing glorious classic French menus that are cooked to perfection and absolutely timeless. Treat yourself to weekday lunch or a festively indulgent weekend breakfast followed by a stroll through the 5,000 acres of royal park land in Regent's Park. What a wonderful, festive day!

Maison Blanc

Maison Blanc in Hampstead Village is right next to London's famously glorious Hampstead Heath and a walk around this area is enchanting at Christmas time. Wrap up warm and delve into the rich woodland of the Heath with its array of marvellous wildlife and when you begin to miss the city, you can walk to the top of Parliament Hill to see the best of London sprawled out ahead of you. After a long walk, there's little better than a hot cup of tea served with something sweet and delicious. Maison Blanc was the first authentic French patisserie and boulangerie in the UK when the Oxford bakery opened in the early 1980s. Each shop is a little slice of France with freshly baked artisan breads, pastries, savouries, cakes and patisserie, all hand finished and bursting with seasonal flavour. A trip to Maison Blanc is a real treat during Christmas period because the pâtissiers have created a beautiful collection of French-inspired, hand-crafted patisserie including a sticky date and ginger festive tree and a chocolate log black forest roulade.
