“The D.J. most time looses the plot. Its like he's not with the floor. From nowhere he decides to kill the flow, by playing something he only cares about. The dance floor empties so the torture continues. We there to have fun not to do the D J job. You know what it takes to rock the house so Mr DJ do your thing, you got nothing to loose”

“This bar looks good but rips you off. They charge 12.5% service charge on all drinks ordered, even when ordered at the bar. They don't tell you this, this just ask for the total due but if you look on the bar menu it says in small type that this an optional service charge, but who reads the menu when ordering bottles of beer. Don't expect to get served again if you exercise your right not to pay it. You will pay the same price for a lovely waitress to take your order and bring your drinks to the table which is obviously better than giving it to the arrogant bar man who thinks he deserves it just for taking the top off a bottle of beer, which already costs £3.40 before the additonal 12.5% is added.”

“Ignore the previous review, as the church is a brilliant hangout for Sunday afternoons. He has probably not drunk enough.”

“Happy Hour Prices have changed...its now £2.50 for a beer instead of £3.60 and £3.70/£3.90 for a cocktail instead of £5.70/£5.90....no wonder it was quieter than when I have been before!!”

“Terrible. This pub claims to cover all major sporting events on two giant screens and a multitude of smaller screens. Unfortunately that claim doesn't include Nationwide playoff finals. Despite there being a near empty pub, they refused to change the channels from MTV claiming the game was "not an advertised event". (Eh?) Despite it being Sunday lunchtime 1pm, there was next to no-one in the pub, yet the bar staff seemed happy to keep MTV on to a completely empty pub despite their inaccurate claims outside. Needless to say, our group left without buying anything. No real ale in this pub that we could see.”

Herbal Club & Bar, Shoreditch (Bar)
“Tucked in the heart of arguably the most laid-back parts of the capital, Herbal never fails to deliver. The now-monthly Grace on Sunday is a great kick-start to the week with some of the friendliest people who ever graced two floors. Check out their website - it's easy to navigate and gives comprehensive info on all the coming events. Top drawer, get in and get-on-down!”

“Quality local boozer. Nothing too fancy, good range of beers (cost less than pubs in the surrounding area too), good value food, big screen for the footy and sunday roast for £3.95 what more could you ask for?”

“want to see live music? - the half moon is definitely the venue to go to. with live music every night, theres always something on offer for all you londoners out there! pub isn't the most appealing though, if there wasn't live music not sure if i would bother, but atmosphere is rocking when the gig is right.”

Underworld, Camden (Bar / Club)
“The underworld is fantastic! I have only been there for gigs, but when I have, there has been excellent security both inside and outsite the venue. It's small but I think that adds to the atmosphere. Theres a raised balcony where you can watch a gig in peace or, if you dare, you can just go on the floor (can be dangerous). The entry prices are always good, however drinks can be a bit on the pricey side. Definately recomend. Plus, it's easy to get to being opposite camden tube station”

Monkey Chews, Belsize Park & Chalk Farm (Bar / Restaurant)
“A groovy little venue, tucked away in a grimey council estate in Chalk Farm. Monkeychews has great food and, occasionally, great tunes. It's gone downhill a little, the music used to be better and the regulars friendlier, but it's still a warm and intimate setting for any occasion. You must try the seafood platter, but if the owner's surly sister is working when you visit turn around and walk straight out again!”

Freemasons Arms, Hampstead (Bar)
“We went there yesterday; the bar staff seemed polite. It’s a great building too, but my god if Gordon Ramsey went into this place he would hang them. The beef and ale pie was dry, the cauliflower under cooked and not fresh. However it was when I pulled out the longest hair from the luke warm mash that I returned the food. Quietly I might add - I didn’t cause a fuss and asked for the meal to be refunded on the bill. Then all of a sudden the cook - I wouldn’t call him a chef - came out looking like he was going to kill me!! He said he didn’t know where it came from as no one in the kitchen apart from him worked there - no apology - he wanted to drag me to cash register for the refund - rather undermining - we waved he away. will not be returning to this place.”

“Hot, crowded, smokey and loud. It's absolutely effing perfect. I lived here for a couple years. And you even get real beer (Adnams and a guest ale). Ian Siegal will ruin you for any other bar room music.”

The Kings Head Theatre Pub, Angel & Islington (Bar)
“I have read the review at the front of this page and in terms of the physical architecture it is correct. However, it fails to record the good natured bar staff who work hard and professionally with great good humour. It also fails to mention the quality of the bar entertainment. I was there on Saturday 8th May 2004 when a guitarist, bass guiutarist and drummer stormed the trad jazz oevre and then whupped the jazz rock catalogue, not for one minute attempting to 'cover' but just to play known titles with their own incredible interpretations, zest and verve. The singer was straight out of 'Deliverance', sang like the Devil, and played his guitar as if it was an extension of his body. The drummer had muscles like Swazeneggar just due to the frenetic frenzy of his drumming. The bassist worked like loon to keep the two together, constantly watching forst one then the other for the cue, the beat. The whole was a mind blowing exposition of the finest primeaval, beat driven jazz rock I have ever heard. I was not alone in my view, being in the company of many serious musicians and music fans who were unanimous in their praise of truly outstanding musicians. I felt priveledged to have stumbled on this performance by accident. Did we enjoy ourselves? You bet we did! Was it worth the £3 entrance cost? I'd have paid a lot more.”

The Dome, Kentish Town (Bar / Club)
“It's the dingiest, most macabre (not even in a gothic way) club in London. I have been a few times and each time was just as appauling as the first. Bouncers think they are super-human and get a bit too intimate when searching on the door. As for drinks, i bought 2 pints, as i was ordering, the clock went from 10:59 to 11:00 (end of happy hour), they charged me full price on the 2nd pint even though i bought both at same time. DONT GO!”
