This bar is fantastic. With so many boring chain bars and restaurants in London, it is so refreshing to spend a night around outstanding musicians in an utterly non pretentious environment. An amazing... More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

Ain't Nothing But Blues

Swan, Notting Hill (Bar)
“A great place to hang! I live in the U.S.. I just got back from a visit to London. I stayed at the Thistle - Lancaster Gate which is right down the street from the Swan. We spent at least a few hours hanging out at the Swan. It''s full of excellent people. The service was great; the food was outstanding (for bar food). I highly recommend this bar! Cheers!!”

Two Floors, Soho (Bar / Restaurant)
“there''s just something about 2 floors I like, it reminds me of the kind of local bar you find in new york, young and not too swanky. There''s a good mixture of people that aren''t too pretentious ..the bar staff are ok, they could be a bit friendlier at times, but overall it''s a nice relaxed bar to hangout in, and it never seems to get too crowded, as without a seat there''s not much room to stand around. Really good dark lighting too, there''s none of that ''all bar one'' bright lighting! so if you are hungover it''s perfect.”

Blues Bar, Fulham (Bar)
“This Bar is a must for any Chelsea fan as it shows most of the football games on a Beam Back system. The games are beamed back 5 mins behind the live time. They serve an array of Beers and spirits and the bar staff normally join in with the atmosphere. The security is great too, any trouble and the doorman are right on it. As for non football days the bar serves a good selection of bar food which in my experiance has always been of great quality and taste. Give it a visit and you wont be dissapointed!”

“Two friends and I hired the bar for our birthday party with a fancy dress theme of Superheroes and Cartoon Characters. Lucy, the bar manageress was a legend and organised the decoration, Roger the Doorman (manners and a good bloke- these qualities do exist in door staff!), DJ, food (delicious and the chef turned his hand to serving drinks as well) and pretty much everything else. We had about 140 people there and it was a fantastic night- the staff were brilliant and everyone agreed it was a great venue. I would highly reccommend the Dovedale as a party venue or just for a few drinks or for a bite to eat. Shame I live too far away to make it a regular!”

“This is a very good bar, serving a dazzling array of first class cocktails, it''s free to get in and can get nice and lively on the weekend. The service is also excellent - what more could you ask of for a bar with a Beauchamp Place address?”

The Kings Head Theatre Pub, Angel & Islington (Bar)
“This place has atmosphere, history and I''ve enjoyed many a night taking in a performance or enjoying a drink while listening to some fantastic music. Not for the Uber-trendy, but for those who like places that stand the test of time.”

The Bailey, Angel & Islington (Bar)
“Now under New owners and what a difference they now a regular supply of beer most of which is thoroughly enjoyable. The Regular bands I wonder when and where Guy saw them have long gone. The Thai lady and your family still provide the most excellant and reasonably priced food around. The intermittent quiz has run every Monday night for the last 8 or more years and over the biggest cash prizes anywhere and its free entry. Lots of TV screens showing sport and they also have a large screen. It has been smartened up but still has that lived in feeling. Good value for money with many cheep offers on varing nights.”

Artillery Arms, Shoreditch (Bar)
“Excellent Fullers Pub popular with the soldiers next door. The Locals and the city types. Beer is almost always in excellent nick with London Pride Chiswick and ESB on offer. Not a foodie pub although they do offer a limited range. One drawback is that it very small and at busy times especially in the winter its uncomfortable.”

“A pub split between the trendy crowd and regulars it appears not to be aiming for one or the other - so satisfies no one. Food disapointing considering what their website promises. One real ale Directors OK but nothing to want me to go again.”

Piano, Kensington (Bar / Restaurant)
“The most wonderful, fantastic place for a different and very chilled out but fun evening. Bazz plays great music at the same time as really entertaining his guests; and if your lucky will get his wife or one of his very talented sons to sing with him. The bar is done out in classic black and white, the staff are friendly and make great martini''s, and generally the level of customer service and great music make it an ‘must do’ experience. If you''re in the area, drop in; if not, get a taxi over there! ”

“My favourite pub in London. Just a pity the staff seem to have no idea about Dutch culture. Definitely worth a visit when the Dutch football team''s playing or on 5 Dec on St. Nicholas Day.”
