The Mayflower 117 Rotherhithe Street, Rotherhithe, London, SE16 4NF (Map)

This pub has been my best find on the river. Great surroundings, loads of history and a jetty over the Thames. What more could you ask for... Well the food is also top notch, and I tend to travel there... More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

The Green, Clerkenwell (Bar / Restaurant)
“The Green is one of the best finds since The Eagle/The Westbourne/The Cow. It's got a great relaxed atmosphere and the evening tapas menu is a must - will be especially good in the summer months. The flavoured vodka selection coudl be my downfall. I had a girly lunch there recently and found the starter portions were generous and plentiful with aromatic oils and chutneys. The main was The Green's spicy fishcake accompanied by grilled veg and fab chutney. Well worth a vist.”

“I loved every minute of my time spent here. The service was fantastic, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was cozy and friendly... oh and the new manager was quite something. A fox he was!!!”

“Pleasant staff and ambience, however ridiculously overpriced, small portions. We were told about the Sunday roast which was lovely but not worth money. Sorry x”

“If you are a tourist walking between Leicester Square and Covent Garden then by all means stop. If you are anyone else, then really don't bother. This pub is drab and lacking in any kind of atmosphere.”

Jewel, West End (Bar / Restaurant / Club)
“We planned on going to Jewel last Friday night for a friends birthday. To be fair we might have got their slightly late (11pm), but as there was two guys and a girl you would expect to be able to get in. The first doorman was happy for us to go in, but then his fellow bouncer who was blessed with a head like Evil Edna from Willow the Whisp quickly came out and told us that we'd have to spend £2,000 to make it worth his while to let us in! The guy was generally a rude, obnoxious arse - the kind of bouncer that's not needed on any bar door. If the service and atmosphere is as bad inside as it is on the door (I never did get in) then I would suggest stearing clear of this bar and go for the better option - Jewel in Piccadily Circus. Cretinous!”

Long Room, Ladbroke Grove & Kensal (Bar)
“If you're not one for dusty old pubs and stale bitter, the longroom is the best place to go in Queens Park. The really attentive bartenders and great choice of pizzas has already made this my local. Good music fri nights as well.”

Zigfrid von Underbelly, Shoreditch (Bar / Restaurant)
“Zigfrid was a huge disappointment. The staff are untrained, unskilled and hopelessly rude. The crowd were aggressive and drunk on a Saturday night, they obviously went drinking somewhere else first! As for the decor, what a mess - every single design idea in one tiny badly laid out area.”

Opal Champagne Lounge, Kensington (Bar)
“Not sure about the decor - seems a bit leftover from the seventies! Bar prices are horrific and the barman is too obviously a student who would rather be somewhere else. Not responsive at all. Otherwise not too bad, but I've had better nights elsewhere...”

Baroque, Ealing (Bar / Restaurant / Club)
“Its a great place for cool vibes and expertly made cocktails. The mojitos and the champagne selections are real good. In the summer the garden is cosy and the food and staff are all good. Can be a bit noisy when packed though.”

“I have never had such posh food in such a down to earth place - all sorts of gorgeous bites. if you don't work around Baker Street they are a bit tucked away but it is so worth the time - pool table, really friendly staff, lovely cocktails.”

“The best kept secret in london. This is a top boozer and does the best Guiness in London!! Small but has a good vibe. This place is good if you wanna have a quite pint or wanna have a session! Either way you can't go wrong. I am not really a seafood person but if that's your thing this is the place for you. This is definetly one of my faveroute pubs in London.”

“I have no idea how we could have ignored this place for so long!! It's a bit out of the center but we went for my friends b'day as she lives round there and had told me it's good - best party i've had in ages, they are huge, open late, bouncers are lovely, gorgeous people, wicked music - almost like a club but without attitude and admission. will def go back.”

“One of the wosrt pubs in the area. The owners can't run a pub if they tried. It's hard to believe this is a youngs pub because sir John normally vets his owners. The atmosphere is as wet as the beer. Not good. If your looking for a decent youngs pint go to the Rising Sun.”

Loved

"Had the best Taglioni Salmone, lovely wine with it, great family friendly atmosphere. Free glass of Prosecco on arrival because it was Father’s Day. Excellent pricing and we were fitted in seamlessly despite..." Which venue is this?

Hated

"Girls were rude demanding tips for a poor show. If this is the best club London has to offer don't bother going anywhere else in the city." Which venue is this?
