Baroque, Ealing (Bar / Restaurant / Club)
“We had a fantastic time at the kiwi kitchen on Saturday. The staff were very attentive and the food was top notch - and very reasonably priced. The Paua fritter was just like back home and the lamb shank has to be the best lamb I've tasted outside the North island of NZ. Keep up the good work guys, you're truly bringing a slice of kiwiana to the UK!”

Opal Champagne Lounge, Kensington (Bar)
“If you go to Opal on a Friday or Saturday night, be prepared to be met by an unreasonable, rude and power-tripping little Blonde girl "managing" the door. This young lady (backed-up by a large eastern-european thug) will not care if you're on the guestlist she's holding or how polite/ quiet/ well/dressed/respectable/funky/fashionable you are. Gloucester road's own little tin-pot dictatoress will decide if you get in or not depnding purely on your socio-economic status. Needless to say, you'll have NO trouble getting in if you're a white chelsea rich kid (looking like a cross between Harry Potter and Prince Harry). This is an obvious policy by the club's manager (an Algerian migrant himself, incidently) to keep the club...ahem "respectable". Once/if you get in it's actually a cosy little club, but don't expect any loyalty from the door staff on your next visit!”

“Terrible awful place. Food naf, karaoke style singer beyond horrible. A nice pub, ruined by people who have no concept of a nice local.”

Tir Na Nog, Wandsworth (Bar)
“Great little place for a fantastic pint of guiness. Wandsworth's best kept secret - very different to all the other pretentious and fake 'old school' bars in the area. This place is proper old school and you always likely to meet an interesting character in there! Something different and a good laugh.”

Lucky Voice Soho Private Karaoke, Soho (Bar)
“I went to Lucky Voice karaoke last weekend with a gaggle of girls. We had a brilliant time. Great tunes, great wigs and great drinks ... great fun. The only draw back was a couple of members of staff who should not have been put in customer facing roles. Passive aggressive tones from the front of house were really inappropriate considering the silliness of the singing. Well worth a visit despite this.”

The Red Lion, Barnes & Sheen (Bar / Restaurant)
“What a delightful pub, clean & well run. I have lived in Barnes for 12 years & I thought it was still the troublesome den that it used to be. How wrong I was. When one of the girls from my antenatal class suggested it for lunch, I almost choked with disbilief, she assured me it would be good and she was right, excellent lunch, (I had the crab), pity it doesn't seem to be as good as a secret as I now wish it was!, but at least there were no chavs around!”

Project Orange, Clapham (Bar)
“Project Orange is a rock/indie bar with live bands playing downstairs once a month. Wide range of international beers, basic cocktails. Private basement bar is available to hire for groups of up to 70-75 (though i'd say anything over 60 would be a bit packed). It has a nice alternative vibe, and the great music makes a refreshing change from the chain bars that seem to dominate Clapham Junction.”

The Pig and Whistle, Barnes & Sheen (Bar)
“What rubbish, this is a standard regulars pub, there's nothing special about it, but I've been going there nearly every day since Easter and I haven't seen one fight! Not one for the beer conniseurs amongst you, but the regulars who can come in and chat and see a friendly face love it, its cheap and the staff are always welcoming.”

“I was charged £14.50 for a very small glass of house red and an unpallatable glass of house white wine. Barman was extremely rude when I queried the bill. I will not be returning and would not recommend. A hideous wine drinking experience all in all.”

Masaledar, Tooting (Restaurant)
“I had a terrible experience at Masaledar this weekend. My husband found a shard of glass in his main meal and the staff couldn't care less. Who knows what else was in our meals seeing as the restaurant was experiencing a power cut and we had one tea light to try and work out what we were eating. The service staff didn't apologise for the glass and when we told them we were leaving immediately didn't say a simple 'thank you' when we paid for the starters we were able to eat. The service was nothing short of rude before we got to this stage of our meal. Needless to say we won't be returning.”

The Roxy, Fitzrovia (Bar / Club)
“As a one time visitor to London, the Roxy would have to have been my favourite pub in London. The Indie night we went to was fantastic, even if we did get rolled by a few ladies.. but music was fantastic, the drinks, a bit expensive, but good, and the livelyness was awesome. 5 stars to the Roxy!”

Locale, Fulham (Bar / Restaurant)
“Went to Locale with my children and we had a fantastic lunch. A proper childrens menu with proper home made Italian childrens food, no nuggets in site! They loved the meat balls with spaghetti. I had a wonderful sea bass with fennel which I would highly recommend. All in all we had a most enjoyable experience and will I will definitely be back!”

Quaglino's, St James (Bar / Restaurant)
“There is a sense of occasion when you come to Quaglino's, especially walking down their marble staircase - classy. Try to book a table in the centre as you can see everything that's going on. Service and atmosphere here is superb. If you like eating in a stylish venue then Quaglino's is the place for you!”

The Barracuda, Ealing (Bar / Club)
“I've been to this club on and off for years, yes, the owner can be a bit of a grouch (the wife, not the hubby) and wears bizarre clothes that went out of fashion erm, well actually they were never in fashion but she's rarely there these days! The bouncers just do their job, the same as any other bouncers at the Ealing clubs and I've been to them all. I keep returning to Barracuda cos the age group of the customers is mixed, the music caters to all tastes, you can sit and chill and chat near the entrance or on comfy sofas or dance your night away as you please. Yeah it could do with a lick of paint but the bar staff are efficient and generally cheerful (more so in the last few years than before) but the drinks are reasonably priced and contrary to what I've read elsewhere about this place, bottled water is only a quid a bottle! Free entry for women before 10.30 which I've taken advantage of many a time when out on girly nights! Try it out on a Friday or Saturday, you might want to go back!”

Loved

" It's not very often that I give a bad review on anywhere that I've eaten, but I have to say my visit to Chatsworth in Acton last Saturday was the worst and I won't be returning, ever. A group of around..." Which venue is this?
