JD Young Sports Bar 2 Lidlington Place, Regent's Park, Mornington Crescent, London, NW1 2JU (Map)

I had a phat time there. There was a nice warm atmosphere with an impressive range of ales. The pies there are particularly delicious. I think from memory I ate 6 of them over a period of just 4 hours.... More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

“If you are looking for a new type of venue with an ecclectic, good-looking crowd, this is the new hang-out on the South Bank. As its set within the new Young Vic Theatre building, you get a creative vibe, set off by great music, a bar on two levels with an outside terrace next to an upstairs cocktail bar. This is the real gem, the upstairs bar feels exclusive and the barmen really know their stuff. Food was just what you feel like at the end of a busy day...either easy healthy snacks or fish and chips. At last, Waterloo finally has a bar which can match any other north of the river.”

“This is one of the worst pubs I hav ever been to in London. I went last Sunday for Sunday lunch, paid 12.50 each for roast beef with my wife and friends which took two and a half hours to arrive. Stupidly we ordered some desert, after an hour we were informed that no deserts were available. Asking for a refund was met with disgust by the arrogant and obnoxious manager. All in all a disgusting level of service and somewhere I woudl suggest you never go.”

“All star lanes, what a fabulous idea. I had the best friday night for a long time. You have a bar stocked better than most in the West End, great food and all this as well as bowling. If the tacky with bad food and drink reputation of bowling is not to your taste All Star Lanes is perfect for you. The Chanel of the bowling world. LOVE IT!!!!!”

“The staff at Bedford and Strand are amazing. So friendly and extremely helpful, they actually know about the drinks they are selling. Amazing, considering quite how large their wine selection is. I just love it!!!”

“The foood and service at Haandi Restaurant is just wonderful, the other day I asked the manager for a dish to be made with Okra and yogurt and he created a solution. I travel the world but the aroma and taste of Haandi stands out .. Try their irresitable Bar-B-Que Jumbo Prawns.”

Moomba Kitchen & Bar, Putney (Bar / Restaurant)
“Rather like the previous reviewer I was simply not prepared for the high quality of food (and service). We had a fantastic dinner on Friday night and couldn't fault any of the 3 courses - faultless foie gras and mushroom pancakes starters, a succulent beef wellington (cooked to a tee) and delicious chicken dish (think it was with marscapone) and topped off with some great home cooked (I was assured) deserts (lemon tart, chocolate mouse). The chef even sent us up some rare beef amuse bouche to keep us entertained. The service was very friendly and contributed to a fun atmosphere. Anyone in Putney or the surrounding areas who is serious about their food should give Moomba a go - I will certainly be returning.”

“An absloute gem... this place is truly a party venue! The Decor is like nothing i have seen anywhere else in London, and it would take an age to really appreitiate it all. The music on the ground floor starts off nice and loungy and works its way up to some seriously funky party beats. The upstairs dancefloor is kind of a blur of flashing lights, Jagermiester shots and some beautiful.... beautiful women. O yes and a overfriendly doorman who kept on hugging me. It was truly one of the best nights of my life. Artesian Well is an absloute gem.”

“After many good meals, in particular Sunday roasts from the Pilot, I took my girlfriend there for Sunday lunch on the 1st October. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the quality of the roast. Firstly not being given any potatoes, then to be given as vegetables one small carrot and parsnip each, with the parsnip still raw was a joke. The meat was borderline and certainly not what I would expect for 14 quid. No wonder the place was almost empty at 1.30pm on a Sunday.”

The Marquess Tavern, Angel & Islington (Bar / Restaurant)
“This pub was refurb'd about 6 months ago and the owners have done something quite different in turning it into a quintessentially british pub with a stunning environment, exquisite 1940's style British food and very recently a strong, visible manager. The Marquess is one of my favorite pubs in London and its completely unpretenstious. Go here!”

Gunmakers (formerly William Wallace), Marylebone (Bar)
“Great atmosphere and landlord very hospitable. Beer in excellent order, had a sandwich which was fresh and sumptious. Would recommend the Gunmakers to get away from the hustle of Marylebone High St. It will definitely take off within the next year.”

“This place is probably my favourite bar in london. The decor is beautiful, staff very friendly and efficient, food - bloody great and not massively expensive and as for the beer... stonking! Take a date there, go there with your mum, go there by yourself, whatever... just go there because whatever the occation, you are fated to have a brilliant time. Tip - try the Grimburgen double, it's amazing beer (and gets you very squiffy indeed).”

“The music on a friday used to be good here, but recently its changed + no longer worth going for (that was the main reason i went), but my main gripe is with the uncooked meat (did I hear someone say food poisoning?), i'm not impressed, and won't be going again.”

“What a great find, this must be the best pub in finchley. No screeming under aged kids, great food, great staff, great beer, the only thing I could moan about would be that i do not live next door to this venue. The best pub in the area without a doubt.”

"Girls were rude demanding tips for a poor show. If this is the best club London has to offer don't bother going anywhere else in the city." Which venue is this?
