OXO Tower Brasserie, South Bank & Bankside (Restaurant)
“Thank you for a lovely evening at the Brasserie. Everything was fine, and we really appreciated the private taxi service afterwards — something you ought to advertise more. My slightly negative thoughts are: 1) I thought the food was slightly over-priced (specially the starters). 2) I detest being saddled with a 12.5% service charge so asked for it to be removed, which was no problem for your staff. Normally I would've gladly left that amount voluntarily in tips, but having it presented on the bill meant I wasn't in the frame of mind to leave as much. It is probably normal practice in London, but not where I come from! Service is discretionary and should be treated that way in all meanings of the word. I wonder how many other visitors are put off by this?”

“Dont waste your time, you can set up membership as they say you should before getting there and with no warning on the website about capacity. Turn up with your friends and deal with an unsympathetic bouncer who has no qualms about ruining your Saturday night by telling you that unless you book a table, you are not coming in! I dont waste my time with dingey little places with attitude.”

“I came to this cafe with my family yesterday to eat. I had to go up to the staff to ask if I could sit down because no one attented to us after waiting for 5 minutes. Then when my food came, most of it was cold. U asked for a napkin but noone came back to give me one. When I complained about it being cold, the staff there simply put it in her mouth and started to disagree with me. I got no apology and waited to get another plate of food but no one came back. We asked for the bill, only to find that they had added a 12% service charge for doing absolutely nothing. I refused to pay a service charge and walked off. The staff there were not attentive, not professional and lacked basic manners. Will NEVER go there again!!! Disappointed!”

“The Scottish Salmon and the Scampi Provencale my husband and I feasted on at Trattoria Verdi recently were prepared perfectly! We also loved the very Italian starters, I must say. It was an altogether wonderful meal in a very pleasant setting. We were surrounded by happy diners and friendly waitresses. I highly recommend this restaurant.”
