“Brilliant in the summer where they do a cracking BBQ good views over the Thames, just a shame its next to the cement works, nevertheless food was good and beer well kept. It was quite busy for a mid week lunchtime. Just a bit of difficulty parking the car .... like everywhere else in London”

“lovely squashy sofas, pleasant staff and a buzzy atmosphere. They make good cocktails. Quite a masculine decor and a bit like an old boys club but a nice place nevertheless”

“What you make of "The Boney", as some might call it, really depends on your point of view. Some will indulge in its big tables, gaze through its large windows and generally wallow in its cool vibe. Others will detest the Notting Hill clientele, bemoan the "relaxed" bar staff and begrudge the mission to get there. Personally, I like the place. It can do guzzling weekend nights and supping weekday evenings, with the large windows and street-corner location seemingly reflecting the mood. The beers good and they serve food too (though I've never tried it). Oh, and one time the barmaids got up and danced on the bar, proof that the Boney has a life of its own.”

“Fun bar with interesting décor and good atmosphere, the upstairs of Artesian Well is a late night venue with DJ. Have often been a little worse for wear by the time I have got there, but have always had fun! Only irritating thing is it is a little far away from other bars in the Clapham area.”

“The main review gets this pub about right. Probably about the best pub in the immediate area if you're looking for somewhere quite lively but not overwhelming. If you're tourist-phobic you might want to stay away though as the number of hotels and hostels in the area ensures a regular supply of them. Something missed in the review is the fireplaces; lovely on a cold evening. The downstairs fireplace is probably the only reason not to head upstairs to the sofa bar.”

“This is my local and a great improvement to Herne Hill. Opened only a few months ago but is great value for money with good salads and ciabbatas and fab art that changes every month.”

“This is a great pub, the organic beer is lovely stuff. The only improvement would be to make some of the staff a bit more friendly.”

“Would have to be one of the most untrendiest pubs in Covent Garden but that is its charm. Pre theatre audience mixing with arty types and locals in a small bar makes for a great atmosphere, very un-Covent Garden. If you want the trendy and gorgeous set do not come here. Not sure if they still bring the Guinness in from Ireland but it is always a great pint served by the same staff over the years. Also a large range of whiskies on offer for those wanting a quick fix. For those of a taller stature mind your head on the way down to the toilets.”

“I would highly recommend this pub. Sitting beside the Thames with outodoor seating a great location for a summer's Sunday afternoon. During the winter with the low ceilings and fireplaces makes you forget the day's troubles. Always packed for the Boat Race. The Guinness is always good and the staff helpful. Has a good menu with good sized portions. The only drawback is the walk from Hammersmith Station but helps you to sober up on the way back while taking in the views of Hammersmith Bridge at night.”

“Avoid like the plague unless your under 21 and enjoy unatmospheric pubs full of juveniles. The refurbishment has done nothing to make the place anymore inviting. There are plenty more attractive offerings in Clapham than this drinking trough, such as The Falcon across the road.”

“Jibber's got it right. Used to be a great little pub with plenty of atmosphere but might as well go to the Frog and Forget Me Not as it is just as bad but has more space.”
